I've received several inquiries so I thought I'd post it here for those interested.

The "tentative" air date that I'm getting right now is that the high stakes Poker After Dark segment that we taped in January will be aired on NBCSN on Thursday June 7th..if it changes, I will update as more info becomes available.

You on it?

Who is this guy? I'm a big poker player. Recently, I got hammered in one night. So I'm taking a bit of a break. (It's just how I do it.) But I'll be back in a couple of weeks. I'm up over 4k on the year and I play a couple of times a week... scratch that. I was up 4k on the year. I got my teeth kicked in for 500 chips the other night. Boy, that didn't feel good. But that's why they call it gambling.

Yea, actually there are three segments of it...it's just hard to get a somewhat accurate date of airing..especially the WSOP ones since there are quite a few of those.

Glad to see other players on these boards as well..By "hammered" did you mean as in getting beat at the tables or alcohol? If you want to take poker seriously, save the alcohol for after the game and just stick with water or something...alcohol gives a false sense of testosterone and will end up costing in the end. I love my Crown and Coke, just not when I'm playing.

Also, one rule that I live by is: "don't let the failure of your last hand affect the success of your next hand". Bad beats and bad nights at the tables are gonna happen from time to time.

Shuffle up and deal and have fun my friend.

I understand, but it's money. I take it seriously. I'm better than most players. No, I wasn't drinking. I had some bad beats on big pots. Like I rivered a FH with pocket 5 5 with 10 10 5 Q. I was in 250 alone on that hand and he was holding pocket Queens. But the risk reward was high. It was a rather large pot, well over 1k..

Yeah, i play. I try not to drink myself. You have to have the benefit of time to win, that's what I find. I fold a lot, which means people don't like to bet me. But it works in my favor. I also get caught bluffing very rarely, mostly because I don't bluff much unless I'm heads up or narrow it down with tells or other sorts of reads...

Love the game though.

Can you give us some more info on your background, how long you've been playing, etc? Are you a pro or just enjoy playing recreationally? How did you get on the show?

I started playing hold'em the weekend of the 95 Super Bowl XXX in Arizona and got hooked. As you're probably well aware, limit was the only game played in the majority of places at that time. I'm from Texas and it drove me nuts that I couldn't get my fix so i'd fly to Vegas and Atlantic city or drive to Shreveport to play, all my friends thought I had a gambling problem (while they conveniently overlooked the chunks of money they lost in the stock market they knew little to nothing about). I got so obsessed, I actually shut down my business bought a VW Eurovan and traveled across the country playing poker in an attempt to go pro. 3 weeks in Vegas put a stop to that. Its funny to think back on playing with guys like Mike Matusow, Karina Jet and Daniel Negreanu at such low limit games. You had to be a serious grinder in those days. When internet poker started I got obsessed again and won a pretty good chunk of money culminating in a WSOP 2006 main event package I won on Bodog. The kids got too good and I was too busy to keep up with the times and I fell behind. The shutting down of Pokerstars and Full Tilt last year put the kibash on poker for me, but I suspect if the US ever gets its head out of its rear and legalizes online poker, I'll give it a go once again.

Can you tell us who you are so we know who to root for?

Aren't they airing that show on the cable NBC show? Please confirm where we can find it so I can set my DVR.

Looking forward to hearing a trip report!

I played cash on Stars and Tilt until just after Black Friday. I really miss it.

I'm only a few hours away from Vegas but haven't been able to get there much, life has had me very busy recently.

Internet play was great, competition any time you wanted, as much as you wanted.

Did i say how much i miss playing online? :(

So I played at a different house last night. Went down 250, bought back in and went up 300... then i lost it all.

LOL.

Going to play again tonight at a small stakes game. But I found a new house last night that is a totally different vibe and group of players.

I quit betting because I realized something significant about myself... If I win $200, it really is no big deal. But if I lose $20, I get pissed. For me, the highs are not high enough & the lows fall too fast. I'll keep my money in my wallet & find something else to do with my time. I have nothing against people who gamble, I just have come to realize that it's not for me.
