I know everyone is quick to say "don't get excited, it was just the Rams" or "we're still an 8-8 team", etc... but things just feel different this year.

When a flag appears on the field, I don't automatically assume it's on us.

When an opposing QB launches a ball down field, I don't automatically assume it's going to be caught.

When Romo drops back to pass, I don't automatically assume 3 defenders are going to crash in on him immediately.

This team has a little swagger, a little confidence, and a little bit of that well oiled machine look and feel to it. I think these coaches have transformed the team's mentality, and I think we finally have some true leaders on this team. I think the team is focused and wants to win. That want-to goes a long way.

If my gut is right and this team's desire has finally caught up to its talent, this could be a special season.

Now, cue the "don't get excited, it was just the Rams" crowd...

Rams are a decent team, I too have noticed a change in this team since last year after the Bears game. No matter how far they got down they never gave up, they kept fighting. Our team is..well..becoming a team, fighting for each other. This team can be special and we will know in 2 weeks and what our record is looking like. After 5 games we will know

The next 2 weeks can be very telling. Ive thought the same thing before so im not sold We obviously played a good game yesterday but the 2 before that were horrible.

Don't get too excited, it was just the Rams.

How they played yesterday deserves credit no matter who they played. Dallas did a lot of good things. However I agree with Jimmy that this team suffers from over confidence when they win. They have to play at this level of intensity game in and game out. They can't go around acting as if they won the SB they won a game by playing hardnosed hustling football and to get where they want they need to bring it game after game. Cowboy players need to stay away from the their clippings and focus on the job at hand.

I agree, but it is what I'm hearing OFF the field that has me optimistic. Marinelli getting on Ware with the "close but no cigar" incident. Then Hatcher getting on the team about passing when they should be running. The ragtag bunch of last season or recent history never went off this way.

I have had this feeling before only to have it crash down on top of me and making the pain that much more powerful.

So now I am very cautious with my optimism for this team.

Will stay in my sit back and see mode just to see if we can finally turn things around or remain an 8-8 type of team.

KC game irks me, but there were a bunch of positives, just missed on some golden opputunities. We seem to have cut back on penaltys, we seem to have a swagger, next two weeks are huge we could create some seperation in the EAST.

What 2 games were terrible? You can't be talking about beating a.division foe for the first time since the new stadium was built (5 years) or going to a tough place to play against a good team (undefeated) and losing by a point. So since it's not those two which two you talking bout willis.......

I can't say if this is the year, but I do sense we have turned the corner, and clearer heads are prevailing at Valley Ranch.

I agree that the next 2 weeks will clear up things. Can we go on the road and follow up a convincing win with another strong showing?being inconsistent is hopefully a thing of the past. then they need to come back home and at a minimum, compete hard and challenge the Broncos

A big part of the reason it "feels different"....is because the rest of the division is stunningly bad. Traditional solid organizations like the Giants and Steelers are winless. Everyones chic Super Bowl pick the Atlanta Falcons are 1-2....and for the first time since 2007 we are fielding a NFL caliber Oline!

Jaybird, is that a picture of Jay Saldi in your avatar?

I'm not even ready to concede to the Broncos like so many others have.

They aren't unbeatable. And at that point, they will likely be 4-0. Why can't we be the first to beat them? We have the talent, and it will be a home game.

That's another big difference I've noticed- for the first time since we've had the new stadium, we actually seem to have a real home field advantage. That could be huge for us.
