Looking at our next seven games

I came with 6-1 over all these losing teams, ya u bring up the stout stats our opponents have, but obviously they arent helping them win. Again, all i am stating is that loss to Denver will bring out more good than bad. Our defense has too much pride not to come together...this OP refuses to get in this negative zombie mind trace alot of you are in! I have nothing to be ashamed of, I dont suit on Sundays...but our team that does, I SUPPORT EM!!! I see a good stretch in our schedule!!! Forgive me!!! Lol!

I am optimistic every sunday and have been since the mid 80's. But facts are facts and I don't see how this team with this defense can achieve 6-1 in that stretch. Am I hopeful? Sure I am, I always say any given sunday. But I am not going to lie to myself or set my self up for disappointment either.

The truth of the matter is that without Romo and his great stats, we are never going to even be in a position to win an elimination game. If we started Orton over Romo, we would be looking at 6-10 seasons. My point is that without Romo you will never be in position to even play in a week 17 elimination game, the season will be over by Thanksgiving.

So yea, Romo makes some crucial mistakes but he also puts up 4 or 5 TDs to go with that INT. Another QB may not make a late game mistake, but it wouldnt matter because without those 4 or 5 TDs the game would have been over with by halftime.

I agree that Romo puts the Cowboys in a position to win and make the playoffs which is why I was in support of resigning him when many weren't but he can only get the Cowboys so far because he can't close. His 5 TD's were great but his one int couldn't be overcome because of when and where it occurred. He's the undisputed king of the ill-timed turnover. The Cowboys will only get so far with him because he consistently folds in critical situations in spotlighted/elimination games. He can't handle big game pressure he continues to make poor decisions when spotlighted games are on the line. The only way the Cowboys will get very far with him is if they can get a big lead to where he doesn't have to make a play at a critical moment in a critical game.

The game ended with Romo getting picked in the end zone. I'll give him a pass on that int because it came on a 4th down desperation throw with 16 seconds left but that drive and the game still ended with an ill-timed turnover. With the game tied 13-13 with 2:04 on the clock in the 4th quarter vs Pittsburgh in Dec of 08 Romo tossed a pick six and the Steelers won 20-13. On opening night of the 2011 season vs the Jets in a 24-24 tie with only 59 seconds left in the game Romo tossed a pick which resulted in the Jets kicking the game winning FG.

In the season finale of the 2012 season vs Washington with a playoff birth at stake and the Cowboys down 21-18 with 3:33 left in the game Romo threw a pick which led to Washington sealing the game with a TD and bouncing the Cowboys from the playoffs. Last Sunday vs Denver with the game tied 48-48 with just over 2 minutes to play Romo throws a pick which led to Denver sealing the win with a FG with no time remaining. See how many QB's you can list who've had more ill-timed turnovers in the final minutes than Romo over a 7 year period.

I am guessing you missed this thread...other qbs have just as many killer turnovers as Romo and many more in these situations. He gets the hate because he is the qb of the Dallas Cowboys. I truly believe it is simple as that. I also think he has work to do to kill the media driven perception of him as a choker, Sunday did not help.

I haven't read the thread but the main reason in my opinion Romo receives so much grief for his killer turnovers in spotlighted games is because he's had so many of them and because he's such a good productive QB most of the time. He was playing as good as any QB has ever played vs Denver for 58 minutes and folded in the final 2 minutes when the game was on the line. Every season his regular season stats are right up there with some of the best QB's in the league but when it's down to the most critical moment in a spotlighted game he consistently folds.

For some reason he can't seem to pull of that one great play at the most critical time in a spotlighted game but he consistently comes up with a terrible play at the most critical moment. Every time he has an opportunity to change the negative perception many have of him he just reinforces it with yet another huge blunder that's going to scrutinized for years to come.

So if the cowboys win the NFC east the next two years and lose in the champ game but Romo wins 4-5 elimination games to get there, he is now great? Please spare the BS.
