After signing this brooks guy, are we movin Rob P back to his college position of LT? I think we might just do that. this brooks guy seems to be a good run blocker and a decent pass blocker,, but dont handle speed rushers to good. Most speed guys like comin off the LT to get to the blind side. I think we put brooks over at RT, where he has played in the league, move Rob P to the left and give him help. The vet RT should be able t hold his own on that side of the ball for the most part. Keep tucker on the bench because he is more versitle and can play both sides. JMO

For the next few weeks you may see Rob on the left and Tucker on the right. Brooks can't be in game condition.

I agree - leave Tucker at LT - Leave Petitti where he is. I feel very calm on this injury. Its not as earth shattering as the chicken little's make this out to be.

I want nothing more than to see a dominant offensive team performance.....

Exactly! Who do you want blocking Drew's back, Tucker or Petite? When Tucker misses an assignment, at least Drew will be able to see his mistake coming at him if Tucker's at ORT. Can you imagine Tucker committing a mistake, and some defender coming free to hit Drew's blind side? Put Tucker on the Right and let Rob play the left, and give help to the one that has the toughest assignment on any particular week.

Rob Let Strahan whack Drew twice last week - not so fast

Keep continuity -

I don't blame Pettiti for that, you play a pro bowl DE your gonna get burned, that's why they go to the Pro Bowl.

well, if Rob P stays at RT,, the signing makes little sense, why sign a career Vet RT to replace a LT? If Tucker is the new starter, which i am fine with, then why not try to find a more flexible guy to sign, that can play both sides. This guy has never played anything but RT as far as i know, could be wrong on that though. maybe i am missing something

You're probably missing that starting caliber LTs don't sit at home on the couch, they are on teams already.

You might want to consider that Petitti's a ROOKIE, who is just learning the NFL game... he had major adjustments to make getting used to playing at RT, now you want to take this ROOKIE, and force him to change all his techniques to play LT??

Sorry, that would be quite idiotic... doing what you suggest would weaken BOTH LT and RT...

Now, if you want to make a case for giving Rob a tryout at LT in camp next summer, I'm on board with that... but let's not throw to much at the ROOKIE, too fast... you risk ruining him, destroying his confidence, by jerking him from position to position as a ROOKIE...

LOL... you do know that your best passrushers traditionally line up against the LT, don't you?? Strahan is the exception to that rule... so, now you're saying that after getting burned by a Pro Bowl DE, the best thing for the Cowboys and Petitti is to move him over to where he's gonna be MUCH more likely to face a Pro Bowl DE??

The logic of that eludes me...

No i very much understand that! What i am saying is,, simply, if Tucker is the new LT , and Rob P is the RT,, then our only back up can only play RT. If they brought this guy into start,, it would be easier to get Rob P adjusted to the LT then someone who has never played there. Maybe if there is an Emergency later, like tucker hurt, then we move Rob P over. But i still dont like the pick up if he is just going to be a back up and can only play one side.

I believe that Brooks started a few games at LT in the course of his NFL career... read that somewhere, but can't think of where right now, or I'd offer you a quote, or a link...

I'm not thrilled with the guy because he got most of his experience with the Ravens, and their OL has been putrid for a while now...
