Just wow.

Jones - Large and in charge and completely blind. He doesn't know what he is doing.

Garrett - sitting there tapping his hand on table every few seconds.

Jones, thoroughly showing/displaying/ letting it be known. He is in change. Period.

Garrett has the title and money. That is all.

Now, this will seem like a rant. It's not. It's complete and utter disappointment. This thing... This thing where we do the same things year after year and expect different results is.... Crazy.

We are the Raiders. Although I think Al meddled/controlled less.

You can see the thought bubble coming from the evil gingers head while he is sitting close to Jerry and letting Jerry talk....

He is thinking...keep your friends close but keep your enemies closer.

Luckily, Garrett was only tapping with one hand. It would been out of line to tap both of his hands.

I remember back in the day when Tom Landry was the face of this team. He held press conferences. Seldom did you see Tex Schramm speak much at all because he turned the floor over to the head coach.

So too Jimmy was the face of the Cowboys. Jerry had a few moments to address the press, but Jimmy was the guy who was in charge.

As time wears on Jerry has nudged out what one would assume is the most important piece of the team - the guy who assembles the talent and calls the shots.

I can deal with Jerry's mug on camera if I had confidence he knew what he was talking about. If he had the chops to get the job done. But I do not believe. I do not see any wisdom come from this man as a GM. A stopped clock is right twice a day and so too Jerry can be right. But my opinion is he is right because he mouths the words he hears from the scouts and coaches. And those special times he is right just coincide with the times he spoke and listened to the right guy for once in a blue moon.

Jerry is a brilliant business owner. But Jerry is also a mediocre GM who has created a management dynamic I have never seen before in anything other than politics.

Is this a rant? That's subjective I suppose.

But my heart lies with this team, and its disconcerting to see a man who has produced so much middle of the road inability of this team to continue to think of himself as the guy who brought you three Super Bowls and thus he has street cred.

And ladies and gentlemen, that is exactly what Jerry said to a fan who asked him when he would get a real GM on the radio in Dallas.

He thinks he was the driving force for those trophies.

Yeah, then we may get he's beating the drum to the same old tune....glad we don't have to go through that..but i'm sure it will be a coming soon...

But I would look at it as, he's getting the war drums ready...ready for camp, get the troops ready...

I saw him interviewed once and spoke about his favorite movies. Not sure he is a Godfather fan or the Bible.

If he were to quote a film, I suspect he'd say something like, "Wanna hear the most annoying sound in the world?"

.

If there was media coverage back then, and 20,000 websites, tv, radio stations, 10 million bloggers and posters....I think we would have seen more of them commenting.
