Jerry on the Fan, Tuesday morning.
About the game. He was confident they could score points, but had concern about slowing down the Rams, after the way they started. But the defense made stops and got turnovers when needed. Had several players not having a good game, but came back and made plays at the end.
Encouraged by Romo, playing better. Romo recognized last week, what was needed, went to trainers, worked on his legs to get it corrected.
Muuray, after fumbles early in 3 games, but fought back and played hard. Physical player, makes yards after 1st hit. Uses arms as a balancing technique. Ball hangs out there, and he realized that, they are working on that issue.
About Mo, had good camp, then injury, so is working on getting back to his start of camp playing well. Great athletic ability at LSU, WR or CB. They are not down on him. They are not committed to keeping him in there because of what they gave up for him. As Scandrick had best camp of any player. And has he lived up to the status of what they gave up for him, no, but they still feel he will be a very good player for them.
Spencer will get reps in practice as to see if he can get some snaps in this weeks, but will just see how it goes.
Ro. McClain, will wait and see. At point do they wait until 100%, not risk it, or to see if he can play some snaps. It’s hamstring, not groin, Jerry misspoke on the injury. It responded well but that doesn’t mean anything right now.
Sacks, will see if spencer can help when he gets back, Melton & T. McClain too, once they are 100%. Create more pressure to help secondary.
Was asked if blue uniforms would be worn Sunday and the jinx. He said, no, it’s white, already determined, can’t change it.
Told story of one of the SB years, Pat summerall announcing, but forgot socks when packing. So they [I think he meant TV station], bought him 2 pairs of socks, $300, at the hotel they stay at. So he gave Jerry one of the pairs. Jerry said he wore them every game after, and they never lost. Radio guy asked himif he washed them, after each game. Jerry said, yes, they were washed. LOL
