Obviously the title should have state INFO on two movies.

The first movie I would like for you guys/gals to critique is The Counselor with Cameron Diaz, Pitt, etc. Lots of skilled actors in this one. Looked pretty good. I recorded it to watch with my wife. Worth it?

Second one is Draft Day starring Costner. Being a huge football fan, I obviously have to watch it. I hope it goes into the inner workings of how a draft board develops, and eventually unfolds.

So are they any good?

First one is gonna break your heart in the end.

Second one is enjoyable. Feel good.

Simple and to the point. Thanks Roger Ebert. ;)

I sat down and watched just a few minutes of The Counselor and it was intriguing. I did not come away thinking (after only a few minutes of what I saw) that it would break my heart. Intense? Yes please. Twisted? You betcha. Heartbreaking?

One question. Who's the dude that takes that wire and runs it across a lonely highway, around a power pole, then attaches and tightens it to a fixture in his Ford pickup only to decapitate a dude on a crotch rocket? I think that kid that loses his head is Rosie Perez's son? That's about all I saw, other than Cameron's gynecological, sucker fish episode on that dudes yellow Ferrari windshield.

In the movie he is her son

“the Wireman”
Sam Spruell is an actor, known for Snow White and the Huntsman (2012), The Hurt Locker (2008) and K-19: The Widowmaker (2002).

Draft Day is pretty bad. Especially if you're hoping for some realism. I think I may have enjoyed it more if I wasn't knowledgeable about football or the draft.

Draft Day was extremely unrealistic and as an avid fan with more knowledge of how valuable draft picks are, its not very good. The best part of the movie is where the coach says something like "Yeah, I came from Dallas where they win a lot" and flashes his SB ring. At the end the GM was being praised by fans and ESPN, but I would have been pissed if I was a fan.

Haha for real. He basically traded away a few seconds to get back the firsts he traded away and walked away with a special teams player. I've seen better trades in Risen Star's annual mock.

Draft day is an awesome movie. Yeah it was unrealistic as hell but still enjoyable.

Thank you.

I am so glad you didn't go the "I know sooooooo much about football..... I'm soooooo much smarter than others" that the movie sucked angle! Lmao

Draft Day was unrealistic and I hate when "guy" movies have to add a romance interest drama angle to get the ladies to watch.

But other than that I enjoyed Draft Day.

The Counselor on the other hand I found kind of pretentious and boring. Some of the actors did a good job but the style and feeling of the movie just did not work for me. Some movies like that either click or they fail...this one did not click for me.

Well, we could throw in the terrible script, poor acting, the silly overselling of the NFL, and other factors that make it a bad movie, but there's no point in kicking a movie while it's down.
