Glad they signed Showers. He may be a camp body, but I think he's a guy that could maybe do enough to land on the PS to see if he can be developed. There's not a lot out there on Showers. He was a backup to Tannehill and Manziel at Texas A&M. Graduated in 3yrs and transfered to UTEP.

At UTEP, played well in a run-oriented offense. He's mature and a strong leader. (What I saw) he's not a running QB but is mobile and athletic enough to get out of some jams. has a good arm. he reads defenses OK. sometimes slow going through his progression (but more likely b/c of UTEP's poor receivers than on Showers). Not the prettiest passes sometimes, but they get there (p.manning-like ducks sometimes)

1st video, you see him under center, drop back, play action, make his reads, hit a longish pass.


2nd video, the elusiveness with a Romo-esque spin, looks downfield, looks to throw. doesn't set his feet but gets off a very strong throw.

Nice got a friend playing there, #92 Villareal and have heard good things about Showers.

If he was drafted he could have re-entered next year after not signing. His agent screwed up by saying what they did. Although teams also must be afraid of having their franchise tied to him right now anyway.

Unless there is a loophole beyond guaranteeing his contract. He really can't recoup the money.

Yep, they opened their big mouths. Should have remained silent, got drafted, refuse to sign then sit the year and re-enter the draft. They made the mistake of showing all their cards.

If I was a RB I'd be doing everything in my power to get my agent to contact the Cowboys.

I wouldn't necessarily say that since we did trade away a 6th rounder next year to draft Swain. Must be a good blocker.

Read somewhere he was best blocking TE in country
