i know that this doesn't start until june 6 in vancouver, canada(rooting for the USA BTW :D), but i figured that i would get a thread started on this already. here is the tournament's theme song:

The women's team is so much more fun to watch than the men. Maybe that's just b/c they're better, relatively speaking, but they just an entertaining group.

Still gives me goosebumps:

I enjoy both. I'm excited about Julian Green in the men's next WC effort.

awesome moment. :D

I was downtown in Vancouver a couple of weeks ago and saw the introduction of the Canadian team. Yanks should win but Wambach is already whining about the fields not being real grass.

i don't think she's the only one complaining about the turf. are there any international players from, say, germany or japan complaining about it?

of course he did only BECAUSE she is American. He would not have posted anything if any other country's player had said it and no one from the US did.

Not a soccer guy really but I will watch as much as possible, thanks for the heads up ( I wasn't sure about the actual start date)

Not a good outing against Korea...
hopefully Alex Morgan and Megan Rapinoe will be healthy enough to play.

There's like 40 women from a dozen countries who petitioned FIFA to use real grass.

None of them are Canadian, obviously, b/c the World Cup is in Canada...

wow. can't even spell drags. Not surprising. Though proper grammar would have been "Look what the cat drug in"
But hey we need someone to make fun of and he is so easy....
Well marine obviously it was a typo as s and d are next ro each other on the keyboard. The correct past tense of drag is "dragged" not "drug".

We said on the bid it would be artificial turf, no one else wanted to host. It's a tempest in a teapot.
