Saints cut 2nd round pick.....

That wacky scheme probably screwed him up.

I think they were playing him at CB, but at 6-3, 218 he looks like a Safety.

the fact that they gave up on him this early likely means the problem wasn't anything physical.

Seems weird to give up on any player taken that high so soon
Makes me wonder if there are other issues besides his play

Probably just listening to the coaches. I recall serious consideration for cutting Goodrich after his 2nd camp. But of course Jerry wouldn't go for it

I wouldn't take a chance on him on size alone. There are only a handful of CBs in the league with that size.

It appears after browsing through the Saints forum that SJB was having a good camp this year and was drafted too high last year for a player that was a project.

He does not appear to be injured, looks like they simply gave up on the player prematurely.

As others have mentioned, move him to S and put him to work In sub packages and develop the kid.

The Saints fans mentioned White and how he was doing well in Dallas and was a fan favorite to some which made them sick..lol.

I applaud teams that can make a decision and not throw good money after bad. Once a guy is drafted he should have to compete for a roster spot just like a free agent. It's certainly valid to mock their scouts and GM for picking the wrong guy, but compounding the mistake by letting pride interfere with your roster decisions is even worse. Think how many franchises have been set back for years by refusing to make objective decisions at positions like QB. Hint: there's one in the NFC East.

The glittering allure of "he was an X round draft pick so he must be worth signing!" is what leads to Trent Richardson debacles. For the most part, one man's trash is indeed trash. You snag the Sterling Moores and Corey Whites (hopefully) of the world by having a sharp eye. Ignore where they are drafted and treat them like new prospects.

If that was done here, we would be getting a lot of posting about how stupid we were to select him. so where is the Sean Payton doesn't know how to draft crowd.

Play him at FS

Doesn't have the range. Good athlete, but doesn't have enough speed to chase guys down or cover large areas. Long strider and heavy feet. Good ball skills at times, and at others plays the ball like Jeff Heath. I watch a lot of Big 10, and he was really hit or miss at Nebraska. Has great size and some great measureables, but was seen coming out as a high risk/high reward player. Not very physical as a tackler either. Does well getting off blocks, but then tries to arm tackle everybody.

I don't know
Cutting a second round pick in his first camp has got to be something extremely rare
That's what makes me think there are other issues
Maybe attitude or something like that but to give up that quick on a top pick is very odd
If it's his ability I'd be firing a gm or some scouts

It was 2nd camp in both cases
