Jason Witten received an end-of-season award for something he's not exactly known for.
The Dallas Cowboys tight end collected 77 receptions for 713 yards and three touchdowns. Although not the best statistical season in his career, Witten ranked fourth among tight ends in receptions and ninth in receiving yards. One category where Witten surpassed all others was in the drops department. Witten did not drop a single pass in 2015. For that, ProFootballFocus gave the Cowboys captain the superlative for the "Best Hands" in the NFL.

Don't some of ya'll want him gone? Gotta be kidding me lol, catches everything that hits his hands

Witten is done and needs to be replaced according to a huge segment of the posters here. The fact that he is still allowed to start and hasn't been replaced/traded is apparently an indictment of exactly what is wrong with this team. Read it right here on CZ.

He just needs to run routes beyond this sticks because his legs are definitely gone.....poor blocking and almost never any YAC.
Still a valuable member of the team, but his best, impactful days are gone. As we search for Romo's heir, we also need to consider TE's with wheels.

Witten was a great player on a bad team this year who never quit playing.

LOVE 82!! Just wish he could count, he has to lead the league in false start penalties..

Hes a HOFer. But like emmitt in his last two years w the team, he needs to retire so younger more explosive guys can develop. Also similar to Roddy White situation in Atlanta

Man we have been spoiled with the second best TE in NFL history. Best overall player on this team since he put on the star!

Never have figured out what his issue is with false starts. He's such an intense player, so maybe he just can't contain himself at times. Maybe that intensity just outweighs his football intelligence at times.

I'm with you here, but I believe that was the idea when drafting Escobar.

It's unfortunate he got hurt. I may be in the minority, but I believe he would excel as "The Guy"

Maybe, but being fleet of foot was never his forte. His combine time was 4.67, I expect it to be closer to 5.1 now given age and wear and tear

Jason just keeps adding to his HOF resume.

For a second, the synapses in my brain weren't firing, and I thought you meant Jason Garrett, :omg:and I'm like "Are you being facetious?"

I'm so used to hearing Witten being called by his last name and not his first so I momentarily interpreted Jason as Garrett and not Witten.

Of course, I quickly returned to my senses as my synapses caught back up to speed. :)
