Name 5 mid level free agents you are hoping we target in free agency next week on the 9th. And yes I'm asking for mid level players because there is very slim chance that we go after multiple big name players let alone 1 of them.

1) Derrick Johnson ILB
2) Robert Ayers DE
3) Patrick Robinson CB
4) Arian Foster RB
5) Brandon Mebane DT

I'll give you SIX.

S Eric Weddle
LB Derrick Johnson
DE Quinton Coples
CB Sean Smith
DT Akiem Hicks
QB Matt Hasselbeck

Not sure if Derrick Johnson, Eric Weddle or Sean Smith would qualify as mid level FA's. But if under $5M per then would be great deals.

The 3 of them will get between 5-8 million. That's not big name player type money but I guess more then what's qualified as mid level. Eh close enough lol.

Nick Fairley
Mario Williams
Isa Abdul-Quddus
Rodney MCleod
Rolando McClain

I think Williams get's at least 10 million a year. He still wants and will most likely get elite type money on a shorter length contract.

DE Mario Williams $10 Million per season 30
MLB Rolando McClain $6 Million per season 27
RB Arian Foster $5 Million per season 30
CB Janoris Jenkins $10 million per season 28
DT Ian Williams $5 Million per season 27

Now that would do something for this fan...

i can see that. I guess that's me wishing the past year and age affects his price.

I'm going to try and put low cost FA since Stephen Jones has made it clear high prices free agents won't be touched by our team. So, trying to keep it realistic (Not that the dream picks are wrong)

1. Arian Foster
2. Jermaine Kearse
3. Shea McClellin
4. Adrian Clayborn
5, Leon Hall

maybe if their was not so many teams with insane amounts of capspace that also run a 4-3 defense. The raiders and Jags will be going all out in free agency. Giants have 50 mil in space as well and are in need of a defensive end. Would love to get him.

Good thread, and if I could, I'd add

Rolando McClain
Morris Claiborne
Mario Williams
Derrick Johnson
Kevin Durant
Janoris Jenkins
Arian Foster

...of course I would just leave it to Stephen to work the miracles. Then I would hit the top quarterback and then two defensive tackles in the draft.

Of course that silence that one hears right now, is my silence in anticipation of the Cowboys entering into free agency and wait until all price tags hit at $6 Million or lower...

I'm with you on Foster. Not a long term solution but he is still a great running back when healthy. Much easier to stay healthy when your Oline can constantly keep defensive linemen from hitting you.

I like Leon Hall. He has been a very good slot corner for the Bengals. Need any and all real upgrades to our secondary we can get.

Shea McClellin really makes sense. A tampa 2 player, I believe he was picked by Marinelli in the first round. I say out of the ones on my list, expect him to be signed at some point.

As for Leon Hall, some depth would be nice instead of having late round undrafted rookies behind our starters. I'm sure he'd compete as well for a starting spot.

Ummm...........

$5MM a year for Arian Foster? That's insane? He's also coming off a blown achilles and at that age, I really wonder why anyone would want him here in Dallas. Plus Dallas would barely go over $5MM for a younger, better Murray but $5MM to Foster is no problem?

McClain ain't getting $6MM a year either. He made $2.6MM last year and didn't play well enough to earn a substantial raise.

I do like both Williams' though. $10MM for Mario might be too rich though.

I wouldn't even consider Foster at 5 mil a season. I would throw a similar contract at him we gave McFadden, probably a little more. If he doesn't look right, he could easily be released without much of a cap hit.
