If I needed to order food at a restaurant, I'd pick the item which is on the exact opposite side of the menu of what Jerry ordered.

The defense is no worse than it was in 2014. How often were they playing catchup then?

I would argue that with the emergence of D-Law (yea he might be out 4 weeks... but that leaves 12 + playoffs) and Jones, and Mo playing better than he had been our defense should be better than it was in 2014. Our defense was 15th in the league last year with 0 offense and without one of it's best players in Scandy. Yea there were no picks and no sacks... but you know how to get more picks and sacks... force teams to throw the ball more... you know how you force teams to throw the ball more... SCORE POINTS. Our defense is not as bad as it's made out to be, even without 6 sack Hardy we will be fine, especially after week 5.

I just don't buy that, teams typically have the terms worked out weeks in advance. I really doubt both sides of a call like that were fumbling around, plus if you watched the NFL Network feed the war room wasn't on the phones before the pick went in.

You have to start somewhere. Six of our last eight first round picks are on offense. You can't build a defense with second and third day picks and low priced free agents.

Baltimore's history leads me to think there was no offer. Not their style
