Not impressed with Lee, Scandrick, Crawford, or Jones yesterday.

Those four guys are supposed to be the heart and soul of our defense. I didn't see any heart or soul and very little skill from any of them yesterday. Yes, Jones made one nice play on a ball. Other than that, they were all average.

Who would have thought the best looking players on our defense the first game of the year would be Morris Claiborne and Terrel McClain!?!? Heck, the much-aligned J.J. Wilcox made the biggest and most important hit of the day.

Our studs gotta show up and play with some fire! I'm hoping Scandrick's just gotta get the fire back, because he was that guy before. I'm hoping Jones is going to settle in at some point this season and be the great player people are hoping. Lee and Crawford, I don't know what to say. There's always hope D. Lawrence can be that guy when he gets back. I don't want Ro McClain back, but I kinda miss that guy - he's the only guy we had who the opposing team feared.

Lee spent most of the afternoon watching Giants runners run past. He might need a neck brace for this whip lash.

I sadly have to agree. In my books all the safties get a free pass in this defense though because they are always asked to stay 40 yards away from the ball......even in clock killing time
 
Scandrick has always been a jag, he had 1 really good season as a pro but his junkyard dog mentality had most fans drinking the kool aid.

Crawford, another jag. He flashes at times and then disappears, our #1 DT but he's a #2 on most other teams, at best.

I've got no explanation for Lee and Byron I didn't really notice.
 
Crawford was seeing a lot of double teams since you know our DE can be blocked by a HS walk on, Durant was doing his Anthony Spencer impersonation by hopping around blocks and watching the RB go by him, Lee was seeing a lot of pulling tackles. Scandrick I think is not 100% sure of his knee and is favoring it and is probably why he is straining groins and hammies.

Lmao. Cmon man there is absolutely no way some teenager can block a professional DE.

Maybe we can get one of the Frisco kids to see if they could block Crawford in 1 on 1 drills or a random practice squad player at the next practice. I'd bet you money on that.

I'm a huge Lee fan but yesterday was a very off game for him. Rarely if ever was he reading the plays and attacking. He was in constant chase mode the whole game
 
Jones got burned badly on the long pass to OBJ where Scandrick was covering him. He was in a Cover 2 and took a terrible angle and gave up a huge play.

Frisco kids? No. But I bet some Trinity kids could.
