I highly doubt JG wants him back....we'll see what JJ/SJ want.

Im worried this idiot ruins the chemistry of this team. If he comes back in shape and ready to contribute. He does add something we have been lacking the middle. He adds to this defense if he is ready to play.

If we were going to cut him-- the time to do that was when he got suspended. We've left this door open, and we have made a policy of sticking by players who have substance abuse issues. I'm not saying that's right by the way-- just acknowledging that is what the philosophy of our FO is.

If not mistaken a player can't be released until after his suspension is completed

Exactly. And this team has had several of those guys recently. McClain, Gregory, and Hardy. Guys whose extracurricular activities were more important to them than their football career was. If those guy had it together, this team would be unstoppable - and undefeated. But, sadly, that's not the case and as you've said, "you can't make a person have passion for the game".

Sad for all of them, and sad that this team doesn't have their talents on the field. But what they're now doing is working to the tune of 8-1 and I'm not about to upset that apple cart for this guy. He had his shot to get on board and he blew it. Train's left the station.

I think they kept him around for financial reasons and the ability to get the highest amount of their money back.

This defensive would be incredible if McClain and Gregory would get their head on straight and Smith fully recovers from his injury. One can only dream but unfortunately that is all it is.

I understand that he is a complete moron. However I don't think he ruins team chemistry. I think the players will put him in check and it's either help or bye. If he can improve our defense I'm all for it. But come next year, see ya.

Not quite the same situation. We are in absolute desperate need of a pass rush. It's completely different than what the QB situation was.

I'm divided.

I was a Ro supporter based on his talent alone. He is THAT good. Just imagine if he committed 100 percent to the off-season and training camp?
However, this last transgression basically made me give up on Ro.
Having said that, I know I've talked a lot about chemistry. But there is always that one guy who is the "exception." He's on every team. All the other people have to show up for practice, but he doesn't. And it's not just because he's a prima donna. Teammates know he's just "off" or he's just "like that", and they make exceptions for him. He gains sympathy where other guys would gain scorn.
Ro is that guy. I think the team knows who Ro is and how he acts, and I don't think they would be as put-off if he just shows up and plays as they would if another player did it.

I'd prefer the Cowboys move on from Ro, but, the Cowboys know that they're going to need a stronger defense down the stretch if they're going to make it to the NFC Championship and beyond.
Ro may be the ONE player who may not need that much practice and who can move into the starting lineup and have an immediate impact.

And, if he goes out and starts "purple drinking" again, he's gone for a year anyway, so the Ro problem will take care of itself - one way or another.

I think the Cowboys are thinking in this manner, and that's why they won't close the door on Ro.
