To be fair. @haleyrules is right. If you don't watch what you eat, eat in healthy portions, and do not exercise, McDonald's ( and most fast food joints) can be a death sentence.

If you sit on the couch all day or sit at a desk and eat big mac combos large sized everyday...its kaput

Of course!

It's not like they (or others in a similar situation) are simply going to raise wages without it "bubbling out" somewhere else... Raise prices to consumers... reduce the need for human employees... all the above.

Agreed, bulldoze all the McDonalds as well as all the Yum food brands and ditto for wal mart as well, they are dirty and sell{for the most part}cheap junk. Sam Walton is probably turning in his grave.

If you got rid of them, there would be another standing there to take their place.

It's just how the market works.

A big enough portion of the world wants to eat "cheap junk" so there's always going to be someone there to scratch that itch.

That's horrible for our kids in school that get these jobs as first experience jobs, if they are gonna lose that opportunity.

When my little one and I go grocery shopping, I always ask the bagger, kindly, if my son can bag (if he/she is there -- often the bagger doesn't show up until my son has started, so they let him be, or even occasionally help my son lol), this way he can be ready to go when he turns 16 to a Ralph's or Vons and get a nice job as a bagger. The cashiers love it, often complementing my little boy, which makes him proud. Pay is real decent for a young man and a great first job at a grocery store. Those fast food jobs are also great for our youngins -- pretty laborious and teaches them honest work.

Anyways, Max, great point, bud. Sucks, man.

The kiosk thing is sweet, but Ive been to random Taco Bells and other fast food that sometimes bring the food to our table.....not to mention places like Whataburger that always bring your food to you.....

exactly.
to call this revolutionary is beyond goofy.
it's not even new.
sonic does this... you order from kiosk and sit and wait on food.
doesn't make it faster, just avoids initial line.
spending money on kiosks at every table is a lot less likely to reduce waits than simply hiring one extra kitchen person.

sadly only 15G protein. it's pretty low.
but 3 of them and dollar large sweet tea is hard to beat for the price.
