Shortcomings were clearly on display last night

I can't promise it won't then again all teams have some weakness and right now the Cowboys have out played them all. They have faced the top defenses in the league, they have gone on the road in tough places and won. People want to say Minn was a bad team and while their offense has problems they do have a top notch defense and a record of 4-1 at home before the Cowboys came to town. Fact is I'm more impressed that the Cowboys played such a sloppy game and yet won, that is what championship teams can do it win games even when they do not play up to their best.

It's tough, because you do see what people are talking about when they see the diminishing offensive production. On the one hand, MIN really does have a fantastic defense. On the other, it's possible we peaked too early and that's probably in the back of everybody's heads. I agree with you, though, that the win was impressive, and I don't think we actually did peak too soon. I think we're going to come out in NY and uncork our best game of the year. That's just my heart/gut talking.

Either way, the changes that might come about at this point in the season will have to do with players developing or getting injured players back. There's not going to be a magic bullet for fixing a flagging pass rush or making our RT into a better player.

I can't and won't take away from what they've done. They're on an unprecedented win streak that can't and shouldn't be minimized.

But I don't think it's wrong or offbase to have concerns about obvious weaknesses either. Fans can both love what's happening and be concerned that these shortcomings could ultimately cost us.

Have they cost us yet? So why be so uptight about it. It's either gonna get us or it might not. Let's just hope it dont

No. You can't. Or you are a hater.

Or a Romo lover/Dak hater.

There can be no concern. About anything. All is perfect.

"Reasonable posters". As if that's something that you get to decide or not. Newsflash! It's not your call and never has been. And that's the part you continue to fail to understand.

And you shouldn't look into it further, but I encourage everyone reading this thread to look into it and then revisit this conversation and make up their own mind.

Of course you don't. You fail to acknowledge any of your wrongs. But at least you're consistent.

But you go ahead and keep projecting your own issues onto anyone and everyone else. Again, consistent.

Sorry, dude. I *do* get to decide whether I think you're a reasonable poster or not. And I don't think you're a reasonable poster. I think you work yourself up and that it affects your better judgement. The good news, though, is that it's just an opinion, so it doesn't really matter.

For thanksgiving Dallas put up 31 points, I think Cowboys played sloppy vs a very good defensive team yet found a way to pull out a big win vs a team who was fighting for their playoff lives. I think anyone who think Cowboys should be putting up 30 points a game is living in a fantasy world. Cowboys did not play a great game but the Cowboys did what great teams do which is find a way to win.

To be clear, of course nobody remotely suggested it's wrong to have concerns about the team or that it doesn't have weaknesses. People are debating what the concerns and weaknesses actually are.

I agree I have concerns over their weakness and yet marvel at the fact they have managed to overcome weakness. I think some go way overboard hollering to have this player cut or benched based on a game. Dallas went into the season playing short handed on defense and that remains the concern. Offense has played great ball for the most part but not every outing will be a highlight reel performance. Sometimes team will have to gut out a win. Myself I never take any games lightly while I saw others claiming how Dallas would just blow out Minn I knew better than that but when Dallas does not go out and play lights out the critics come out in full force. It is just not that easy pulling 11 games in a row.

And some folks just can't look at facts and see that Dak, who had probably never taken a snap from under center in college, wasn't going to start over Moore, who was Linehan guy with game day experience. I come to my conclusions by evaluating the facts. You form your conclusions around an established belief.

Still don't understand what I meant by mutual exclusivity. Keep parroting yourself blithely though. It is funny.

Protip: I am not the one trying to deduct. That would be you.

Can someone explain to me why Whitehead is still on this team? What does he provide to this team?
JG likes him ! He and the others listed are all RKG guys, so they will continue on and play.

About free, he needs help with outside speed rushers, and the cowboys have failed to get him help.
Witten, escobar have not been that good trying to help with that. Thats why they started using mooney.

If NYG puts jpp on that side, cowboys have to give free help, big RB or something to help block on dropback pass plays.

Cowboys were tired, so this isnt a good game to critique.

This is incredibly well put.

We've also got tremendously lucky at the same time though. But you have to give credit where credit is due.

But the picks that we didnt blow on QB's we blew on tight ends in the 2nd round lol

I was on a mobile when I first liked this, but you're obviously right about how lucky we've been at QB.

It's not fair to say we blew the picks on TE, though. We also got a one-legged MIKE and a talented edge rusher with a dependency problem that's effectively ended his career in year two. Go Cowboys.

i think whitehead has potential. the significance of his and free's deficiencies will be become evident in the off season

Lucky's got speed. That's a valuable commodity. I don't know what got into him with the returns last night, though. It was a bit crazy.

I do think he's a very well-liked player in the locker room, for whatever that's worth. The other WRs always seem to be mentioning him when they talk about the position group, and his snapchat is gold sometimes. Basically, he's a physically talented chemistry guy who needs to work a ton on his routes and who they're only gradually learning to trust as a returner. He may have set himself back some last night.

BTW, you all realize the story of this game is that our offense was shut down in the second half and we were going to lose this game except that defense and special teams kept us in it? Thanks to a turnover caused by the kick coverage unit, our offense scored it's only TD of the 2nd half on a gift from the ST.

I'm not. I'm concerned that Pierre-Paul is going to eat his lunch in this next game. He gave him plenty of problems in week one, and he looks to have gotten even better since then, while Free looks to me to have gotten worse.
So who is his replacement?

I chalk a lot of it up to timely penalties, fumbles, and 3 games in 11 days.

Gosh, I'm trying my hardest to come up with something original to criticize but it seems just about everything has been covered already! :muttley:
