Zeke needs to file a civil suit immediately against Thompson

While a civil suit might not get Zeke any money from Thompson it could be very valuable.

It would allow Zekes defense team a chance to get a sworn statement from her under oath as well and a chance to tear her and her story to shreds.

There is also a possibility that she would crack and admit she lied because she wanted to get back at him.

If Zeke is suspended but wins the civil suit it would look terrible on the NFL by showing their investigation was a witch hunt. Which could open up a lawsuit for Zeke against the NFL for HUGE money.

A win would go a long way to clearing his name in the public eye.

I considered that as well, but its a big gamble. There may be things unearthed that would be more harmful to Elliot's reputation than anything yet revealed. He may also be characterized as a rich and powerful man maliciously attacking a weak and sympathetic woman.

LOL. That definitely would not stop me. If Zeke knows he's innocent and he sees her dragging his name through the mud on unjust charges, I don't care how weak you are, you're going to pay for it.

Come on its clear that she has already made statements that she would do anything to ruin him to include blackmail. Plus its clear Goodell is willing to use ANYTHING he has and has tried to bring out anything and everything. As far as her being a "Victim" is clear she is out to ruin him. All gloves are off!

What if Elliot's a drug user and she's been a witness to it? Do you think that'd be a good thing to be made public? Let's say he hasn't been a user, but she claims it anyways. Ya think that won't get plastered all over the internet and nightly news? She can claim anything and the press will parrot it to get ratings... true or not.

Exactly how? By looking like you're being "victimized" again? They'll make this a symbolic fight for victimized women against men who batter them. You can win the battle and still lose the war.

Stop with the wild speculation. Lets see what happens. It will tell us something. If he loses the appeal and goes after her, you don't need to speculate, we will know.

Dude, everything's speculation at this point. My original premise was that a civil case would be frought with risk and I was able to demonstrate very quickly how she could hurt him further. Its called a hypothetical. Deal with it.

Come on.....Don't you think if she knew that she wouldn't have used that against him long ago? Her word is mud......well unless your part of Goodell's witch hunt team. Zeke will lose millions of dollars in endorsement as well as being looked at as a women beater. If hes innocent then he needs to clear his name. If not.....well that another story but he seems to want to fight this all the way thru. That being said he needs to prove in a court of Law that Thompson is not credible and that she damaged his career. Then he needs to go after Goodell for one sided investigation and recoop some of the money he already lost. That's how you clear your name when your innocent.

In another thread, I've already suggested that he sue the NFL for damaging his reputation (aka "brand") and as a result, diminishing his endorsement earnings. Read my first post again: I said it was a gamble. I didn't say it was wrong, or I was against it. I said it was a gamble.

I think its best that Zeke goes after the NFL. If he goes after Tiffany Tompson the public might sympathize with her. They might feel that Zeke is bullying Tiffany for speaking out regarding domestic violence. Thus the public, especially women, might end up siding with Tiffany. Besides, it won't help Zeke to go after her anyways.

Zeke needs to take down the NFL. He has a stronger case going after the NFL than with Tiffany. And the more they talk about this case. The more likely public opinion will be swayed towards Zeke. Thus I think its best to go after the head of the giant rather than swat an annoying fly on the wall.

this is not the right time to go after the *****, with houston under water.
zeke needs to buy his time for at least a couple weeks.
i dont think she has any picture/video evidence of him doing anything wrong, as she would have used it already.

Boohoo. Listen. Again, if he knows he's innocent, take her to court for defamation. Don't care how weak she is. It needs to be understood that you can't throw out allegations just because of who you are.

Key word is innocent. If he is he should take her down at all costs.

If I was EE's legal team I would look more into filing a lawsuit against the Columbus DA.

Thompson broke the law, twice, by the DA's account. And she was never arrested. And then by telling the NFL that he believes that Thompson was assaulted, he may have some sort of civil lawsuit based on prejudice.

The difficulty would be proving slander based on EE being a public figure and the DA stating his opinion on the case. But the unwillingness to arrest Thompson despite breaking the law twice (and it's not like she was jaywalking, these are serious crimes) could prove his point.
