People are actively trying to believe the worst in this kid. Why so much hate?
1. He's the QB of the Dallas Cowboys which brings on haters by default.
2. He's a 4th round pick and will more than likely have to battle that draft position his whole career unless he becomes the next Brady. Romo battled the UDFA his whole career.

People said that Brady was a product of Belicheck's system when he was first the starting qb for the Pats.

Russell Wilson has been getting the same kind of criticism as Dak for most of his career. Critics going to be critical.

People are ridiculous. Dak is a 2nd year QB. He's not the best he'll ever be. He's still learning and getting better. He's going to struggle, especially against two of the better defenses in the league. The rush to label him a game-manager is based on him being a Cowboy. Wentz doesn't get this much hate. Goff doesn't get this much attention. And they were #1 & 2 overall who haven't performed as well as Dak. Dak wasn't a game manager last year. Sure, playing in this system will boost anyone's numbers. But to say he's simply a game-manager and nothing more is just dumb and is done out of hate, a desire for clicks, or both.

I've watched both Dak and Wentz games this year, and I can tell you that Wentz is spinning circles around Dak with virtually no running game. The Eagles QB looks poised and not afraid to let it loose. Wentz did play a bad Commanders secondary but he looked very good against the Chiefs on the road.

Dak is his own problem right now and he needs to figure it out.

And that's the way it is until Dak shows he can put this team on his back without a running game or great defensive play.

Bull, he is just having some accuracy issues this season. I love how quick every one is pile on, he is a young QB there are going to be some ups and downs.
It shouldn't happen at the 3yd line with Dez breaking open on a slant though.

If anything, this was a game where the running game needed to lift the passing game, and not the other way around.

Everybody screwed the pooch last week. They all deserve the heat they get now. This is what happens when you let your team get embarrassed. Wanna stop it? Everybody tackle. Everybody block. Everybody catch.

I wouldn't go that far. Wentz definitely is not as gun shy right now as Prescott but he's been extremely lucky to not have a crap ton of picks early. the Skins dropped three interceptions in Week 1 and and the Chiefs dropped at least two, including one that kind of padded Wentz's numbers with a 50 yard gain on a tipped ball. He's lost his poise at times in games. That interception against KC was a brutal panic throw and basically cost Philly that game.

I would say both have played fairly similarly, with Wentz probably faring a bit better. Admittedly, I do wish Prescott had a bit more gunslinger in him thus far like Wentz. And if you are looking at trajectory, Wentz's play is better than what you saw at the end of last year from him while Prescott, at least through 2 games, has regressed.

I've watched every snap of both as well. Wentz played a bad game vs Washington. Had 2 TOs and could've (should've?) had 2-3 more. He often throws the ball with little thought as to where it's going to go. His accuracy isn't good and his deep ball accuracy is plain bad despite his big arm. Dak actually has a higher QBR this year. Wentz is mad overrated.

Also Wentz has a big fumble problem. Had 14 (!!!) last year and was lucky to only lose 2 of them. Dak ran circles around Wentz last year.

Here's the reality that people don't want to grasp.

The assumption by a lot of people has been that Dak has been a product of the Cowboys system and Elliott and the OL. It's up to Dak to change that narrative that had formed heading into this season.

Through 2 games, he's done nothing to change that narrative. That's reality. I know it bothers some of you but that's because some struggle to break out of their fandom and look at things from an unbiased perspective.

Now some here are down on him and some have even pretty much written him off. I have not. He played well too many times last year, made too many big throws for me to think he's just a small time game manager QB. But even I have some concerns right now............... he's not the QB we saw last year. He seems hesitant to throw the ball more than 7 yards down the field, quickly looking for his dump off. He also seems skittish in the pocket all of a sudden.

This is a very big game coming up for Prescott. If he struggles again, against what is a good secondary, smart fans will start to get concerned.

Saying a lot to say nothing. Dak played well enough already to deserve a much bigger leash and benefit of the doubt. It’s not being unable to break out of fandom, it’s applting context to things. Great season last year, slow start this year against premier defenses, and responding to comments from a guy who hates the Cowboys so much he wouldn’t accept money from them

I was listening to one of the Sirius NFL shows when Williams popped up as a guest speaker. Here are a few of his comments about Dak:

  • I've been saying all along, Dak is a game manager.
  • Dak can't win a game like a Brady can.
  • Zeke is the reason more than Dak that the Cowboys won so much last year
  • There's a reason Dak was only a 4th round pick. You saw why yesterday

One freaking bad game and the cockroaches come out of the woodwork.

Williams is a former Steeler who specifically said he wouldn't sign with the Cowboys. Read into that what you will.
What was Ben Roethlisberger at this point in his career? Hint: a guy who handed off a lot and relied on his defense.
Tom Brady was a 6th round pick.
DeAngelo isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer.

You applied minimal context.

Playing two elite defenses simply highlights the issues that people think Dak has. Denver and NY are teams that can stifle the Cowboys run and make Prescott have to use his arm to beat them. He was OK against NY and we got the win largely because the Giants are a crap show on offense now. And he was brutal against Denver.

It simply feeds the perception that Prescott is not a guy who can carry a team with his arm when they face a good defense. They are likely going to need him to carry them against teams like KC, Philly, etc. Can he? We will find out. But the perception that he's more game manager than top level QB might not be inaccurate. We are going to find out a lot over the next few weeks IMO. Arizona might even present an issue. Their offense is garbage but they have a solid defense.

And another lol @ trashing Dak but lauding Zeke. Didn’t he just rush for 8 yards on 9 carries? He can have a horrific game and it’s an anomaly because of his stellar rookie season? Weird.

C'mon now... Denver was all-in in stopping the box. This was the type of game where the QB needed to come through and he didn't. You won't see any defenses stacking the box with 8-9 players against Brady, Rodgers or Ryan because they will get picked apart in the back end.

It would be one thing if they both didn’t also have elite secondary’s. Not like they sold out to stop the run. Very few teams capable of doing that. Obviously (admittedly) it’s concerning and I’d like to see him beat those teams with his arm (like he did against minny) But we’ve seen much better qbs struggle against much worse defenses.

This myth needs to die. Denver did not stack the line as much as people think. They played a lot of straight up, base defense.

He's right. let's give Cooper Rush a shot. Be great to see a QB throw it with accuracy past 10 yards

That's all I am saying. It's concerning. And his play thus far has done little to stifle the notion that he's a system QB. He certainly has the opportunity to change that narrative but to date, there has to be at least a little bit of concern with the QB at this time. Certainly, not time to full on panic.
