The Dak Prescott thread **merged**

Having this argument via text. You HAVE TO TAKE... points... penalties.. center exchange... fumble, tipped pass... you HAVE TO SCORE.. defense has to make a play at some point
Really we banking on the defense to make a play?

I don't know how I'd feel if he downed himself at the one.

As a football fan I mean.
You play to win. Period. The best chance was to burn clock all the way down no matter what. So scoring there was the wrong thing to do by Dak. Also, we where running on them at will second half. Zeke would have scored most likely.

You take the TD there every time. Downing yourself at the 1 does not guarantee we would score a TD. The throw play on 2nd down was stupid though. Why are we trying to milk the clock only to throw it there at the end to give Rodgers over a minute to come back and at least get a FG. Kind of goes against what they were doing the last 8 minutes.

1:18 on the clock. He should have gave himself up at the 1 yard line.
Rodgers never sees the field again.
That was our best chance to win

Stop. If he does that, then we get a penalty and we don't score he gets crucified.

Throwing a fade on 2nd and one was dumb. That's the call to gripe about.

He should have taken a knee...I hate that outdated philosophy of "Take the TD when it's there." What do you have more confidence in, 4 plays to run down the clock to under 30 seconds to get a TD at the 1 or giving Rodgers an eternity to get a FG with 1 timeout?

How many times does Rodgers have to own this team before you figure out that you beat Rodgers with him sitting on the bench. You don't let him have the ball in his hands to decide the outcome.

It's 2017, the NFL is different. All those old rules/philosophies are outdated in today's game when you have unstoppable offenses like this.

the point is they didn't even try

it's clear there was no thought process of "we have control here, let's try to run as much clock as possible before getting it in, or at least make them burn their last timeout"

this is all too advanced for Garrett when probably 60k people in the stands had it running through their mind. There was no reason to call any pass plays, especially not 2nd and 1 when you can get another first down and burn more clock, and have 4 opportunities to get it in

And to be clear, I'm not blaming Dak
That was on the coaching staff
