You will be watching on Sunday.

No, I probably won’t if he is suspended. I have other things that I can do. I love football and the Cowboys, but I am a fan of other sports and hobbies too. I’m not being emotional, I am just not that interested in supporting the league right now. I know most of you will be watching and I hope that we kick *** without Zeke. It’s certainly possible with the O line. How many times Sunday was Zeke not even touched?

Don't know how to post the twitter thing but Amy Dash reported this....

Judge says Elliott not harmed by being suspended b/c his achievements depend on Cowboys' offensive performance & his health - not just him

Wow. This judge is hoping to go to the 9th circuit with this kind of "logic."

Am I wrong in thinking Zeke's attorneys used the wrong approach with this, from what I read? Seems that they made the judge believe they were saying there was a conspiracy to suspend Elliott instead of sticking to the fundamental unfairness of the lead investigator not being included after she recommended that the league not suspend him. I think all the judge heard was "The NFL's out to get him."

Yes, the NFLPA is basically incompetent from De Smith all the way down. In law, there is no reason to bring up something you can't prove, as it weakens your other arguments and makes you look foolish/desperate. Zeke really had no chance once he was charged and then screwed up a few times over the course of the "investigation." He timed his "indiscretions" poorly as the NFL had egg on its face from Ray Rice and other previous decisions. The pendulum never stays in the middle, it is always swinging, it just so happens Zeke's neck was on the line when it swung by this time. He's going to have to tread carefully as I don't see the NFLPA having enough guts to change the CBA enough to strengthen players' rights.

Well, they're going broke because nobody is watching and advertiser fees are based on TV ratings. The only thing they broadcast that gets watched are NFL and college football games.

ESPN has fired half their administrative staff and on-air talent to compensate.

This is pretty common knowledge actually.

Not replying specifically to erod here...just quoting his post in order to speak to this specific sub-topic

That being said, you can't objectively compare television ratings of football to other major sports. They play 16 regular season games in the NFL, so viewership is concentrated. They play 162 games in MLB (82 in the NBA, and 80 - I think - in the NHL), and viewership is diluted due to the sheer number of games. Just as individual games in those sports are less likely to sell out, it naturally leads to the conclusion that baseball, basketball, and hockey won't have the same level of viewership (again, due to sheer number of games). Advertisers are also well-aware of this, and you can bet they all employ analysts and advisers to help them make informed decisions.

The NFL is unique in that there are far fewer opportunities to view. Any advertiser who makes a decision on an apple-to-apples comparison is going to lose money.

This has to be one of the dumbest arguments I've ever seen a federal judge include. She obviously oblivious about sports in general.

Not sure I understand this line of thought. Being suspended doesn't harm him because it's a team game and he might be injured if he plays? That shows a complete lack of understanding of what this is about.

That "nitwit's" right to due process trumps your professional football enjoyment. Rules matter, the league is a sham when they ignore their own findings.

There have been millions of nitwits who weren’t given the right to due process in this countries exsistense. Still happens today in in our American justice system. Not giving up on America. Not predicting it’s demise.

So you have nothing to say, RXP?

"Yep. OK" is what you rest your laurels on?

Cmon, boy, let's at least talk some, huh?
OK.

I hope the combination of McFaddon and Morris together can be about 70% of what Zeke is. They will have to be for any chance of the playoffs.

Dak has been pretty good, but he's going to have to play at his highest level he's ever had.

And the back end of this defense that has been pretty porous will have to tighten up in a big way. Starting on Sunday.

Without these things happening, the season will be over.

If this happens, I also think Garret should be fired at year end. But I know he won't be. Best I can hope for is for Maranelli to retire and a new DC can be hired to modernize this archaic defensive scheme.

Wishful thinking... Zeke is always pushing forward after contact we are not getting that with McFadden and Morris.
