Just a guy not understanding the game situation who is really bad at tackling. So much dumb.

Actually I think the guy was spot on....trying to stay out of a penalty. He was in a no win situation. Hard to make a split second decision like that. Commit the penalty...And force the Vikings to kick? That was the right move...but who in their right mind would think that was the right move when the game was on the line?

That wasn't a Hail Mary (neither was Pearson's), it was a corner route designed to get him OOB and turned into a fluke TD. Also it was a walk off, whereas Pearson's catch occurred with about 30 seconds left.

Somewhat ironically, the play which coined the phrase "Hail Mary" wasn't a Hail Mary at all. It was a go route against cover 2 man with half a minute left.
Thanks for putting everything in perspective. I almost thought it was a just a great play with poor tackling.

Man, this isn't complicated.

All he has to do is keep his head up and stand his ground. He put himself in a "situation" by lowering his head and diving when he didn't have to do either of those things.

He doesn't have to time anything. Just wrap up Diggs after the ball gets there. They have no time outs, the clock expires if you tackle him in bounds. Defense doesn't get much easier, unless you don't understand the situation and take an unnecessary risk.

Ahh yes, the conspiracy. Played that one really tight, didn't they? And of all the guys to pick out to complete "the fix" on the last play.

It’s more complex and insane than u could possibly imagine...

Apparently you missed the NFL memo, Roger Goodell wanted the Patriots to win which is why he suspended Brady for Deflate Gate. He also set up the Pats vs Steelers for ratings but one of the refs went rogue and the Steelers lost the game due to poor officiating, not due to the coaching and bad qb decisions. After all, Tomlin is the best! He has the biggest QB in the league and not once, but twice does he not choose to run a QB sneak on 4th and 1 (both which resulted in a turnover). Roethlisberger is the best! He threw almost half the INT’s in two games against the JAGS as Dak has thrown all season TOTAL. Dak Sucks.

The Saints got screwed on the last play because Goodell is still bitter about Bounty Gate and paid two defenders to purposely miss the tackle. The Saints losing had nothing to do with Payton not being able to put up any points in the first half, especially with all the talent he has. He also lost, not one but two timeouts on clearly worthless challenges. Oh yeah, he’s also 7-9 for the past 3 seasons. JG Sucks.

JG is the worst! He screwed up on clock mismanagement and challenges (see Payton at least 3 times this game). Marinelli blows, “he” gave up a TD against KC by putting all the players back, unlike the Saints who just lost a playoff game due poor play calling and coverage.

The Cowboys are the worst. Imagine if Landry was still coaching, Romo was our QB, Irvin was our #1 and Randy White was still starting! Whoooooo!

To lose the way the Saints did was even worse. They had the lead and all they had to do was make one stop and it was over. We were tied last year with the Packers so even if we don’t give up the big play and lose on a FG there’s no guarantee we win in OT. To lose on a FG is one thing but to get beat on a deep ball with no time left on the clock is another.

The Saints had the Vikings with their backs firmly up against the wall and blew it. What happened to them will haunt that franchise forever. That’s one that you never really get over. Thirty years from now they’ll be agonizing over that one. The Cowboys Hail Mary from 1975 still haunts the Vikings.

Nothing beats an original.

I remember watching that as it happened live. Someone threw an orange onto the field and it looked like a flag at first. Then, someone beaned a ref with a beer bottle.

Many, many years later but the Vikes pull it out with their version of the Hail Mary TD made famous by roger S and Drew P. Great that Bud Grant was at the game to see it happen.
That was a hail mary? That looked like a jump ball that minnisota was looking to get into FG range and the DB whiffed bad.

Hail Mary? that was more "what the hell" That guy's going to need a bodyguard when he returns to New Orleans. #43 voodoo dolls will be sold everywhere.
Why? He tried to duck out to avoid a pass interference call. That play isn’t the reason the Saints lost. Too many fat guys on their couches think playing the game is easy.

It's all we got.

I guess this is what its like for people who don't have a favorite team. Imagine walking into a bar in Minnesota and the game is on. The final TD is scored and you scream and cheer simply because everyone else is.

It sucks being a fan of such an incompetent organization.

If we had one big playoff game like this I could die tomorrow happy.
Amen brother! If there is one team I would love to do this to it would be the Packers! Drew Brees deserved this too for all the come back victories he has doen to other teams. Incredible game and Im happy for Case Keenum! He deserved to win this game!
