This will be interesting:

“WWE chairman Vince McMahon has confirmed he will be relaunching the XFL, and says he hopes to have the relaunched league off the ground by January 2020.

The resurrected league will kick off near the end of the NFL playoffs and feature eight teams and 10 games. Unlike the first time he launched the XFL, McMahon went to great pains to say he's not trying to compete with the NFL. McMahon also said he will be placing an emphasis on having a faster game. With the concussion crisis still raging, it would seem to be an unideal time to launch a new football league but there should be no shortage of aspiring players for McMahon's experiment.“

He's going to need to compete with this league for the hardcore fans.... The stadium looks packed.
Don't act like you haven't stopped flicking through the channels when this came across your tv set......

The only professional football league other than the NFL that has a chance to succeed is the one that goes head to head with college football with the best 18-24 year olds who don't go to college playing in it and trying to get drafted. No one wants to see 2nd rate talent playing meaningless games but if you put talented 18-24 year olds who decided to skip college, flunked out of college, or were ineligible on the field and could grow it to rival the college game, I think people would watch it. College baseball has never been a huge draw outside of college towns because everyone knows the best talent at that age is in the minor leagues. On the other hand, college football is a juggernaut because the best talent in the world at that age is on the field. Poach some of that talent and combine it with the talent that couldn't make it to college and maybe some 23-24 year olds that played in college but didn't get drafted and you could likely compete against college football or at least build a successful league who's main purpose is to develop NFL talent.

It could only survive if the cities they choose to hold the teams doesn't have many pro sports around them and if they move the games to Sunday afternoon before the NBA game.

Yes... and if they “carry it” through it’s “re-infancy”.

It won’t survive if they expect to make money initially.

lol I guarantee, every jersey will have an American flag on the front and back and he will demand every player stands, salutes and cries uncontrollably during the anthem, making them incredibly patriotic..which of course will make for positive tweets!

Seems like a good opportunity for Saturday night football. Something the NFL should consider and scrap Thursday night altogether.

Bring back the aura from the "Attitude Era" and apply it to the new XFL! Would be entertaining!

Tweak a few rules where the NFL has created a watered-down product, and I could see the XFL being successful.
