George Dunham of The Ticket said he was at an event this weekend that Jason Witten attended.

Witten was asked about Dez' comments about the "Garrett guys" and "The C's" being behind his release. Witten said he knew nothing about the coming release and that he'd never been asked his opinion about it once about it by anyone within the Cowboys organization.

He also said he spent more time working with and hanging around with Dez than anyone he ever had, and these comments were completely out of left field. He said they've always had a close relationship.

I give Dez a pass to some degree because I know he was hurt and emotional. That's natural. But he never should have done an interview so soon while he was amped up, and he shouldn't be throwing his teammates under the bus unless he knows for sure what happened.

The only guys that wear the "C" are Dak, Witten, Crawford, Scandrick, Lee, and Bailey.

Dez is an emotional player and when a stressful event happens, humans naturally let their emotions come out and get caught up in the moment.

Cooler heads will ultimately prevail, but Dez will someday look back (if he hasn't already) on what he could have done himself to not put himself in this situation.

When he made that "C" comment I don't think he realized how reckless that comment was and he hasn't tried clarifying that. Like honestly.....do I see Tyrone Crawford, or Dan Bailey saying something to the coaches about Dez? Witten.....possibly but even then.....they didn't strike me as guys who hated each other. Even with Dak. I think Dez was more hurt that he didn't have a C on his jersey than he was mad at those guys. Just my belief.

i think Dez was probably referring to Dak
I think its Dak and Witten he's referring too. I don't think either had a effect on his release....he can't blame the guy who actually released him.....but I'm a little shocked he hasn't thrown Garrett and Stephen more under the bus than he has.

Because Witten is going to admit it if he did? lol. Why isn't it ok for Dez to throw teammates under the bus? He is just mirroring what his head coach does throwing his players under the bus. Monkey see monkey do. You know.

Casting blame with a net. Not necessarily the most effective way but depending on the situation blame can be assigned by process of elimination. Bailey, nope, Scandrick - probably not, Lee - don't think so, Crawford - Ok like he we would call out someone's dollar to performance ratio, Witten - doubtful, so who does that leave?????

I wold take Dunham's interpretation with a shaker of salt.

in the fisher interview he threw Garrett under bus saying he goes anonymous when talking to reporters. also said he went to Garrett and told him we need to be more creative on offense and Garrett wasnt having that.

If that is the case JJ or SJ needs to get rid of this guy. If your HC is the leak you have traitor in the heart of your organization.

Dez was referring to the guys that wears Cs....

Cmon folks!

The CLEANING CREW...

You all remember the janitor that outed Dez from the inside before the fateful Friday.

I still want to shake that Cs hand.

I've been saying the last couple of days that ANYONE even hinting that Jason Witten did not have Dez' back is WAY out of line.

Witten and Dez had a huge bond. Just listen to Witten talk about him--he's always said Dez is a brother to him for life. He LOVES Dez.
Part of it started with how they could relate to growing up in fatherless homes and not being overly privileged. Obviously, Dez' situation was worse that the vast majority of people out there, but Witten could relate to some degree. But it's way more than that.

I think Dez is off here anyway.
Two captains (Dak and Witten) have already spoken publically saying that they had zero input at all in this process. They seemed very sincere and honest about it, and I believe them.

I suspect Dez thought Dak was in on it, because those two clearly were not on the same page. But I don't even think Dak was involved either.

I think you're speculating based on nothing. I think Dez may be doing so as well. Maybe it wasn't "Garrett guys" who wanted him gone but simply Garrett? He's the head coach, after all.

But yes, I'm also speculating.
