Smh......dumb move. Love the player, but he's 29. Give them a 3rd or 4th and nothing more.
He is the best to ever play the position. Undisputed. He is worth two 1st rounders. This is a steal. You have to act.

I am usually not on board for trading for players, especially when they are getting close to 30 and will demand a big contract. I like the young guys and the energy they bring. However, I do think that bringing a player like ET could get the D over the hump and make them a true force. We have a pretty good rotation of DL, We just picked our starting MLB, to pair with one of the greats in Lee and what I think will be a great LB in Smith. We drafted our secondary last year and the year before. Having someone like ET would make us a top 10 D for sure with the other parts we already have. So while 50 is a steep price it may just be worth it in this circumstance.

Maybe we can trade 50, get ET, use one of our 4ths and beasly to move back into the 2nd or early 3rd to get the WR we want

Agree 100%. He's not just 29, but has been in the league for 8 years. That's 8 years of wear and tear. I'd be all for dealing a 2nd if he was just coming off his rookie contract, of course you probably wouldn't get him for a 2nd if that was the case. But it makes way more sense to play hard-ball and, if necessary wait 1 year until he's potentially a free agent. I wouldn't give more than a 3rd now.

I’d tell Seattle to take a hike. 3rd or nothing. But 2nd and a huge contract when you’re finally getting your cap in order for a 29 year old?? Don’t do it.

Do you ever wanna get over the hump and win the super bowl? Or keep sputtering doing just good enough not to suck and not good enough to win it all?
