Cole Beasley is surely about to get traded or released

He vaguely criticized the offense to the media and we know Dez didn’t like the scheme either.

I can’t imagine they are making all of these moves without the thought of trading away or cutting Beasley.

I'm not so sure about that. He's on a relatively cheap contract at $3 mil a year and is UFA.

I do think they thought of Switzer as his eventual replacement, but probably as early as next year when he's 30.

Williams is gone, Brown is gone, Thompson is more than likely gone.

Here's an outside the box thought, maybe Austin plays as pass catching RB type rather than a true WR, use him out of the backfield on Jet Sweeps, not much talent left in the draft for the type of RB we wanted, now we have pace to burn

OOps my bad.....meant Beasley
correct on this. He is playing for his job and that's a great thing. Everyone is now being put on notice. He will get every chance to shine now that Dez is gone.

Tavon is 175 pounds soaking wet! He makes Lance Dunbar look big. lol..Using him at RB is a horrible idea. Just move him all over...he needs space to operate. He is a speedy wr..and so we should use him as such. Fly routes..streaks, etc. That would make the defense respect the deep pass and open it up underneath and for Zeke. Nice trade..smart. Now he must be used correctly.

Tavon had 59 carries last season, so a few carries a game to keep teams honest isn't that unrealistic.

Williams feels more expendable to me that Beasley at this point.

Hurns can play the slot, but feels like him and Gallup will be the 2 outside WRs.

Beasley has 1 year left on his contract and caught 36 passes last year. Can't imagine why anyone would trade for him, and I don't think the Cowboys get much out of releasing him (unless he gets beat out in camp).

I'd guess he'll be around for 2018, but hopefully not beyond that. His limitations aren't going to improve with age.

I agree. I think Austin coming in as a utility back is likely.

I expect to see Dak look to Beasley as he did in 2016 season. I think 2017 he spent too much time targeting Dez and the numbers bear that out as Dez has 132 passes thrown his way which was far more than Dak did in the 2016 season where is was Cole who lead all receivers in catches

I would have traded 11 already and it has nothing to do with anything he said, did or didn't do. He is on the last year of his contract and I don't think he will come back here so I would get some value for him while I can. His production is not all world and can be replaced.

Last year Defense took Beasly away more. It was not hard to see he was one of Daks favorite targets and reliable too. 2016 he was a first down making machine. Id expect him to still be very well covered now that Witten and Dez are gone. That gives the other WRs a chances to shine and take pressure off him .
