I was a punker in my late teens. Adore Rancid, NOFX, Op Ovy, Misfits, Travis Barker (and early Blink- pre Barker/Cheshire Cat/Dude Ranch), Slick Shoes, Lagwagon, Tiger Army, (early) AFI, The Ramones, The Clash, TSOL, Black Flag to name a very few. This song is rad

I remember when Glenn Danzig hosted two long-term roommates a couple decades ago:
Lenny Kravitz and Vanilla Ice.

That was when he was living in Anton Lavey's previous domicile.

I've tried to imagine their living dynamic to no avail. Must have been interesting...

It makes me laugh in this song that Eminem says he would have had his *** handed to him if he would have went at Kayne or Lil Wayne. haha Yeah, right. Eminem would slaughter those two. Sure, maybe he would have went at them for the wrong reasons but it wouldn't have been a contest in my opinion. Especially against Kayne.

You know one thing I love about this thread, we all have different tastes in music but instead of bagging on each other we are all open to it. I even click and listen to song I normally wouldn't, and you know what? I have found some really good song!!! Sorry, little "touching moment" from SlammedZero haha

Anyways, as a HUGE 2Pac fan it took me years and years to finally admit this, but, Eminem is the GOAT IMO. He is just amazing. Even if people think he feel off he has only perfected his craft if you REALLY listen to his music. I mean, the dood dropped a song called Rap God and the entire rap scene pretty much stepped back like, "yeah, you can have that."

Love it, brother. :star:

Your post and track. Good stuff, Slam.

Slammed, you got me on an Em kick now, homeboy :) I love this dude. Reminds me of when I lived in DTLA, rocking on the way to the Red Line, in the concrete jungle (he's one of many that remind of that time of my life)

Ezra Koenig is a genius. A savant. And cool fact, former Jr. High English teacher. Not quite the history as, say, the brilliant James Murphy (LCD Soundsytem frontman, and producer-extrodinare/was offered a writing gig for Seinfeld but turned it down/digress), but equally impressive. His writing is poetic, his voice is gorgeous, their music is exceptional.

They made the world-music genre accessible. And brilliant. For contrast, listen to the great Tune-Yards (specifically, Whokill) and see how unaccessible it can be in relation to these tracks
