Earl Thomas will report to Seattle today

We can get him for free next season I mean without trading draft picks. . As s long as he stays healthy. A trade can still happen but I feel they would have tried by now. I think they want to force him to play and see how this season turns out . I'm excited about the tea m now

Again, what is to stop Seattle from franchising him? They have to come to terms with Frank Clark first, but don't assume he'll be a free agent.

Now there is legit interest in playing here, but he'd take an extension from Seattle that paid him what ever he thinks he's worth. In the NBA, GMs tend to cave a trade franchise players for pennies on the dollar. Not so much in the NFL, which is crazy considering NBA players have guaranteed deals and can't really not report. Seattle has made no effort to give him an extension. They don't want to keep him, but they're keeping him.
Makes zero sense.

Thing is, Paul Allen is probably twice as rich as the second richest owner in the NFL, Stan Kroenke. 20.3B is his net wroth, to Stan's ~9B. He can eat all of ET's contract and not blink an eye.

If it is spite, they can sit on it all day. And watch their once formidable organization disintegrate before their eyes. All due to hubris, Stash. Such a fall from grace. And RWilson has to watch their **** show sink.

Exactly why he hasn't been extended. Because the Seahawks don't want to pay him.

Franchise tag is a hollow threat with no teeth.

It's going to cost a ton of money. I'd just look to the draft.

I am aware that a team can cut a player at anytime. I'm not sure where I said this was even a point of contention. Since teams dont have to honor a signed agreement and fans accept that as a business decision then the same fans should not look down on a player for seeking a new deal. Or in ET's case an extension.
Its well know that teams will cut players they dont feel are living up to their contracts all the time. Its also well know that many players want a contract extension before their contract is up. Playing in that last year shifts much risk on the player. This isnt some evil plan where the players are colluding to get over on the owners.

You felt the need to ignore the point of my post so you can rant on about obvious points that no one is even disputing. My 13 year old does that..

No, I did not ignore any of your point at all. You just don't like it. You said the teams don't honor their side of the agreement but you are not correct. Their side of the agreement includes a signing bonus that can not be taken back no matter what happens, injury or not. They have no agreement in the contract to pay the whole thing out. That is the fact of the agreement. The player, in lieu of the signing bonus has the obligation to play it out because of the upfront money is given to cover 1) that they could get cut and 2) that they could get injured (even if that injury is in the last year).

Sure they can try to renegotiate by all means and, teams, if they want to maintain a good relationship with the player can absolutely maintain that goodwill and do it but they don't have to or are obligated to.

Russell Wilson is fine with how things went. He won. He's got his huge contract, and then he saw guys who questioned his authority shipped off like Bennett and Sherman. And he'll soon get an even bigger contract. He is that team at this point and is being taken care of accordingly. He's the Alpha.

But even the GM's Buddy Broaddus has said that there's hurt feelings involved, which should never come into play in business. They're were miffed with his "come get me" move and have been spiteful ever since. Broaddus even speculated that they'd probably take less just to send him somewhere other than where he wanted to go.

That's bad business and should be enough to get someone fired.

Maybe they think he value went up after the Khalil Mack trade but I don't see a correlation.

If Seattle were to start 0-3, they will be calling Dallas about a trade. At that point, Dallas would have the leverage
