You can find threads around here in the off-season with me talking up LVE as a tackling machine. He was a monster at BSU and I was really hopeful it was going to translate into the NFL. So far the arrow is up for him.

He is still raw though, I get that, but I like the flashes I've seen so far.

Especially given the book on him was "couldn't get off blocks" at Boise State.

He couldn’t get off blocks so well that he had a 140 Tackles.

Imagine if he could get of blocks....

The only weakness I saw with Vander Esch in college is he wasn’t a thumper. He wasn’t going to crush a blocker and blow up a play that way.

Just wait until next year.

Jaylon Smith running downfield with ODB was ridonculous.

Jaylon's claim to special status was his man coverage skills. Speed and fluidity to take TEs and RBs downfield. The occasional WR too.

ODB is definitely pushing it. I'm not ready for a diet of that yet.

I wonder if the team had seen the drop off and that's why they went for LVE.

There's no drop off. We held them to 3 points up until the last 5 minutes of the game and they couldn't get a thing going on offense.

We loosened right up once we were up 20-3 and with less than half a quarter left. Sean Lee came off then.

Besides this one, there was a play where they were picking up Eli after a sack and it looked like he saw a ghost. He was absolutely swamped on that play.

Nothing better than sad Eli face.

Giants Owner John Mara saw the Jaylon his from his luxury box and immediately demanded that Goodell suspend Zeke six more games.

This feels like deja vu from last year.

Jaylon is the middle linebacker. The middle linebacker (whoever it is) will lead this defense in tackles. Doesn't really speak much to the quality of his play.

Who cares who gets what credit here. LVE and Jaylon are on the rise and that's what matters most :)
