How is anyone even considering giving the 2nd int to anyone but Dak? He forced it in and the defender had their hand in their to knock it up...just like against Seattle.

Not only did he force it but he threw it late, and behind the WR to the only spot the defender could make a play on the ball.

That ball has to be thrown towards the sideline where only the WR can make a play on it.

edit: Even on the Austin int, I will argue if you throw enough bad passes, eventually something bad is going to happen. No coincidence that tipped balls are becoming a thing.

One of the greatest myths of the NFL is if the WR can touch the ball he should be able to catch the ball.

Frankly it is flat out bull.

If a WR jumps to his pinnacle and can only get fingertips on the ball...it does not mean he can catch it. However when that happens and the ball bounces off and the defensive player catches it...that is not the WRs fault. That is the QBs fault for throwing it too stinking high. Especially when it is going to a smaller WR. It would be different if it was high and it was going to a WR who has a known ability to catch contested high catches. Not a smaller WR.

If a ball is thrown behind a WR and the WR just happens to be able to make a great move and turn around enough just to touch the ball but not catch it....that is not the WRs fault for not catching the ball, it is the QBs for throwing it behind a WR. The only exception is if the WR ran the wrong route. Other wise that is on the QB.

The current WRs on this team are not world beaters by any stretch of the imagination.
But with this Defense and this running game there have been many times when a WR, or two, have been open and Dak has flat out just missed them. There are times when Dak needs to step up into the pocket and make a good thrown, not try and do a spin move and try to move to the outside. There is a time when Dak needs to either make the decision to throw or just flat out take off and run. I understand the team not wanting him to run too many times to avoid injury but there are many times he could have gotten positive yards and in some cases first downs instead of throwing errant passes to WRs that result in a turn over.

Dak has got to get better PERIOD.

I guarantee you that the coaches think so, the WRs think so, the FO thinks so and if you ask Dak he himself would say he needs to get better.

This team right now is setup so all we need is a good bus driver QB to run the system and throw an occasional deep ball. We got the Defense, the run game and Oline (even if the oline is not as good as it once was). Now we just need a bus driver type QB (at worst) and this team can win more games. Right now Dak should have his licence taken away until he can improve.

He had a magical rookie season where they only ran a few plays with variations. How many times did we see jet sweeps or Dak run to one side of the field to hit the TE? We had an incredible Oline play and Running game and Dak was more apt to run it when needed. This offense has went downhill from that point. I don't know if he can just not handle the increase in plays or if he is just trying to be overly cautious and playing not to lose instead of playing to win.

Whatever reason he has not been the same. He achieved what seems to be the pinnacle too early and has went nowhere but down since that time.

This is like Rick Mirer..the golden boy from ND. Was drafted 2nd over all after Bledsoe. Had a great rookie year where he even earned Rookie or Co Rookie of the year. After that his career went down hill and was never the same.

True Analysis: He is a 4th Round Compensatory Selection playing exactly like one.

He isnt the only Problem but a big Problem. He cant put up 200 Yards of Passing in regular Time anymore and the Cowboys average 1,2 TDs a game so far.

Time to invest heavily and try to get a Franchise QB. I rather have them suck for a year or two more than be in this never ending circle of mediocracy.

I can't do it anymore...i can't come on this board and see all of this lazy and useless analysis.
Then stop making lazy and useless analysis. We don't want to read it either.
Newsflash....we have NO weapons. Who is our guy we are going to with any consistency on 3rd and 7? Who is beating coverage? Nobe of them do it. Not even Beasely.

The same Beasely who, on the first drive, Dak looked away from in 3rd down when he was open for a first? Cole did not look too happy.

Dak doesn’t suck...but he’s also not in the small % of QB’s that are franchise QB’s who have a good chance at winning a SB.

I’d rather chase that franchise QB and have hope for a super bowl than stick with Dak
...but Jerry Jones, Jason Garrett, certain media and a good portion of fans inside and outside cowboyszone believed quite the opposite prior to November 2016–while aware or unaware no rookie quarterback had ever won or competed for a championship in NFL history.

Personally, I am not willing to write off Prescott’s chances of developing into a franchise quarterback. He can only improve his own game. Other variables like coaching, teammates and general management decisions are outside his control.

What is ironically disappointing is the (common sense) understanding that all players do not develop the same. Some players can be thrown completely in the fire from jump and they will continue to get better while others take more time to season. Prescott was never afforded that opportunity. Hopefully, his career will not fall victim to the euphoria of the shortsighted from two years ago.

Dak doesn't suck. Dak doesn't have weapons. Dak isn't a franchise type QB who can make plays with his arm consistently enough to not have weapons. There are also plenty of franchise type QBs who don't have weapons--Philip Rivers, Andrew Luck, Aaron Rodgers--each of whom have had varying levels of success. Obviously the combination of Dak plus Zeke plus X is not working. I do think a better QB would have got the win last night and probably had it out of reach by the fourth quarter.

I think we'd like him to succeed simply because finding a franchise QB with a 4th round pick is a great use of value. Whatever good grace he built as a rookie is gone.

But if your QB can't throw with accuracy or keep the defense from stacking eight in the box, you aren't going to win many games.

The Texans were absolutely daring Dak to beat them last night. The defense had all 22 of their eyes on Zeke and were not going to let him beat them.

It is why the screen to Swain was so successful, looked like they were trying to get it to Zeke and he slipped out the other side. We need more of that type of misdirection.

Someone that is actually writing the truth. Dak is solid but he is not going to take us to the promise land. It will be interesting to see if he gets an extension.

Let's be real. He struggles to put up 200 yards and 2 TD in a game, which are pedestrian numbers. He is a slightly more accurate version of Tim Tebow at this point.

Tebow QB'd a 3-7 team into the playoffs, beat the Steelers in the playoffs, , and then got railroaded out of the league. Dak has gotten way more opportunity.
