Current list of all QB salaries and Dak *The $25 Million Worth Merge*

It will be an act of mercy when Jerry Jones offers Prescott the new contract. Too many nail biters will finally be put out of their misery.

Personally I would cut Dak and get a 5 million QB with the same production

Dak is not worth anywhere near 20 mil a year...

Sign a Colt McCoy, CJ Beathard, AJ Mcaron for $4 million and use the rest of that money on what really matters....our defense

SMH...Are you 12 years old?

Wow Dak is one of the biggest assets in the league if not the biggest according to that list.

The man is making 600k...not even a million. I just wanna be his agent cause he's gonna get 20M minimum.

The difference coincides with utter disregard for serious discussion.

Yeah. Once a star QB has pocketed a couple of huge contracts, it's not a bad move to take less in that 3rd or 4th deal to help build a team around them
Those guys have all made way over 150 mil already and took the max that they could get on their first big deals

agreed. It's easier to take a little less when you have long careers.

Agents are capped in the NFL (max 3%, avg. 1.5%), but yeah, it'll be a nice payday for his rep. I'm guessing $125m/5 years. By year 3, that should put him in the middle of the pack.

While Dak Prescott is just two years into his four-year rookie contract, the Dallas Cowboys are already discussing how much his next deal will be worth.

"It's going to be as he deserves," executive vice president Stephen Jones said Wednesday, per Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk. "He was a fourth-round pick. No one deserves to get paid fairly more than he does."

Jones also noted the market could dictate a high salary.

"We all see what some of the other guys are who aren't Aaron Rodgers, who aren’t Matt Ryan [are getting paid]," he added. "He’s going to do well. We certainly know that’s going to happen. We’ve got that planned in our budgeting for the salary cap."

These quotes reinforce what I’ve said for some time now... Jerry/Stephen truly believe they “owe” Dak the money for outplaying his contract. It doesn’t matter how bad Dak could have played this year. Remember Jerry always says he is a practitioner of the “do right” rule. La’el Collins hadn’t exactly proved himself yet, but Jerry still hooked him up with the first round like deal he promised. The Cowboys could have saved 5 million on the cap for the benefit of the team when Romo retired, but Jerry cut him so Romo could keep the cash. Jerry will “do right” by Dak... no matter the consequence.
The only exception was Dez, who was strangely given the “do wrong” rule at the end...

what store does that come from? i'd love that idea, i just don't know how you pull that off. it won't be by draft and FA looks not much better. can you lay out a plan?
I would keep Dak on his rookie deal as a prove it (he has a lot to prove!) ....if didnt play like a top 10 QB (he wont)....Than I would kirk cousins him while I look for a real QB

That gives you two years to find a decent quarterback and allow you to keep building and paying our defense who are the real stars

if you franchise him over the next 2 years after his rookie deal: 725k, 29 mil, 35 mil. that's a total of 65 mil averaging 21.5 mil annually. you aren't saving that much money and you are using up your franchise tag that you now can't use on another player. additionally, you are stressing a situation that doesn't need to be stressed. i'd rather spend another 3mil annually to keep the franchise tag open and have continuity in the team.

i agree he has to improve but imo, 24-25 mil on like a 5 year deal where we don't give a huge SB, that way we can have an out without hurting the cap would be the ideal scenario. if you offer a deal now, you might be able to keep it closer to 21 or 22 and make everyone happy without locking yourself into dak for too many years.

Yep if we're going to base our pay strictly off QBR we are going to have to shell out.

Dak's QBR have been 3rd, 4th, and 22nd in the league all three years. Average of 9th best

I am not sold on Dak, I am still on the fence. With the defense that we are fielding and the makeup of our current team you cannot afford to try another also ran QB like lets say Alex Smith, like Washington did or try to plug in a Teddy Bridgewater and hope to gain anything on what we have with Dak.

I think you have to roll with him because at our draft position we are not getting a top prospect in the next few years. The trading for Amari sealed Dak's fate with the Cowboys for the forseeable future.

Hopefully we can roll with him for under 25/yr

Colt McCoy? Seriously. Dude. Your agenda is showing. Dak is 100 times better than Colt. You didnt really just say that and believe it did you?

If it was me I would just cut him.

Look at Foles....he won the Superbowl, and now hes benched....

Our strength is Zeke and defense....spending big money on average QB just doesnt make sense to me

In my view many QBs can come in here and give un 26th in passing or better
