They're wrong. Don't trust the geek-run sites. They don't even understand what they're looking at.
Teams are playing a ton of single-high safety against Dallas. Even on 3rd down, they've got the two safeties pushed up pretty tight on the line to gain.
Dallas is the worst team in the NFL at plays beyond 20 yards, so teams are just stacking zones in that front 10-15 yards.
So they're not stacked too heavily for Zeke because they don't have to. They're not worried about 3rd down so much, which the Cowboys are dreadful at.
Dallas is also among the worst red-zone teams in the NFL, so defenses are OK yardage as long as they don't give up the big play. Only when Cooper has broken free has Dallas had any.
I'll agree they are not stacking the box as much as people think , that's why I looked for a percentage. "quite a few" doesn't tell you squat. Same as saying "single high safety" a ton. Zeke carries the ball "a ton" you need some numbers to apply context. Surely there's some stats for that. They are playing close enough , not stacked to take away the "homerun" That's why he leads the league in runs over 20 and his TD totals don';t translate to the yardage.
Most people on this board probably think I'm some Dak homer but that's far from the truth. I just don't automatically assume that a broadcaster , some clown on twitter or anybody blogging is right especially when agendas and bias are so prevalent.
Anyways there are ways to beat single high , with the easiest sending 2 or more deep. I am not totally convinced that the lack of deep balls are entirely on the QB , with the game plan being run first and TOP.I think the playbook has run it's course here in Dallas. I know what about 2014-2016 ? Same play caller right? That is true but you have to adapt and change in the NFL yearly to stay on top. I don't think SL in capable.
Dallas still has it laid out in front of them though , the single most stat they need to fix is red-zone scoring.
