You’re saying that, as if running backs don’t play a huge part in teams scoring. And with the current NFL rules it’s easier for QB’s to pass the ball then ever.

I’m not dissing Zeke by saying I think he’s the second best RB in th league, that’s highly commendable and I know this team revolves around him. I’m just stating facts. If someone wants to argue that Zeke is the best RB in the league due to having the most rushing yards, which several do, then I will call them out on it all day long. It’s probably the most misleading statistic right behind how many yards a QB throws for.

I still like Zeke, but this is what I like about Cowboys Zone- getting opinions from fans all over makes us look more objectively at our own opinions.

Matt, sometimes I completely agree with you and others I just want to hand you a drink and shake my head. This is one of those scenarios where I really wish I could hand you a drink.

Carrying Dak is carrying the offense which is needed to win football games. Now the lack of scoring?

I know you’re not blind and can see what’s happening. We have all been screaming for them to run the ball and SL refuses to do so. I am not faulting Zeke for that.

If not for his running and receiving this offense would be worse than it is now.

Nobody is arguing he’s the best back in the league because he has more rushing yards my dude.

He’s the best because he’s probably the most complete back in the game, and this offense is run thru Zeke. Without him it’s toast. There is a stat in the tweet thread that stats Dak has yet to score a TD without Zeke on the field think about that for a moment.

He Runs
He Blocks
He catches

Dude is money he avoids injury like ES22 I’ll take a back like that all day any day.

There are plenty of people that use his total yardage as an argument for being the best back in the league. Regardless, I respectfully disagree. I think Barkley is the most complete back but we can agree to disagree. Congrats to Zeke for having the most rushing yards...I just think it’s a dumb statistic and most people who use it to argue that he’s the best back constantly leave out the other more relevant facts.

But yeah, Zeke has more yards so that means he’s the best...unless he didn’t have the most yards, ran behind an O line as bad as the Giants and didnt have as many carries then he would still be the best but it would be the O lines fault and the coaches fault for not giving him the ball enough :rolleyes:

If you have someone carrying the team on offense, you wouldn’t end up with 0 points and a sluggish offense.

Again, i’m critiquing the RB position and it’s value in modern NFL in general. Zeke is not an outlier.

An RB will need to have an unreal season like LT had in 2006 or Peterson’s 2012 for me to consider them “MVP”.

It is what it is. Our best player is at a position that the league has intentionally made devalued to get offenses more high powered. High scoring, high passing games get people talking. Low scoring, drive draining drives don’t - you pick up far more yard through the air than an RB averaging 4 yards on the ground

The defense is the MVP, Zeke needs to worry about not fumbling and finding a way to take a carry to the house or scoring in the red zone before he’s in a discussion for even the MVP of our team.

7 out of the top 10 RBs in the top 10 in rushing were drafted no later than the
2nd round.
 
Zeke would’ve had a TD today after Gregory picked it up to the 3 yard line. SL decided to be cute and throw the ball twice. Luckily it worked.
