Rapoport: Zeke wants a new contract this offseason

This will he one of the toughest deliberations in Cowboys player contract history. The salary cap really kills teams that are successful on draft day.

To be honest, I don't know how they keep Zeke, Byron Jones and DLaw and maintain a solid talent level throughout the roster. Those are some productive shoes to fill.

Is there any other profession where outsiders are eager to see people get pay raises? My how nice it must be to be an athlete where throngs of people demand you get paid millions of dollars. Lol.

Yeah especially considering this league stands for “Not for Long.”

Unlike you and I, most of these individuals can’t go “sell insurance “ or be a banker at a local credit union. Football is all they know and they are putting their lives and CTE risks every Sunday for YOUR entertainment.

If you don’t like the fact that you don’t have the opportunities they do then go train and get drafted.

Otherwise, fall back like a bike with no kick stand.

Well if your extending Dak a year before you need to then by all means you would sign Zeke.

What is the highest equivalent deal for a RB lately - Gurley is at 14 million a year.

That's a 10 mill jump over Zekes hit. With the punishment he takes this could be his last big deal.

It’s better to give him an extension now than two years.

Give him a 5 year deal, that’s 8 years under contract which is still pushing it for a running backs timeline. Give him one in 2 years, it’s 10 years which means he will likely never see the end of the contract.

OTC says he’s on the books for approx $7.49mm next season, does it make sense to extend him this offseason if you see him as a long term part of the plan or wait a year and risk injury or see if the price goes up?

His contract would have to include language that if he is suspended again all guaranteed monies are voided like they did with Fournette.

Exactly. Better to do it now considering the position he plays. If you don't already know that he's the best back in the league I don't know what to tell you. You can have a debate with the others not with Zeke.

Fans are stupid
Cowboy fans are stupider than most
Some cowboy fans still defend Jerry and think Garrett is a good HC

I agree. We need to have language in the contract that protects us from a woman lying about him again. And then we need to pray for that woman. God bless her.

if the guy working wall mart gets a raise, it does not impact a commodity that we care so deeply about. If there was no salary cap, I can promise you that not a single person would raise an eye brow over what these guys make. But since we know paying these guys early hurts the team we loves cap situation, thats why you see discussion of someones contract.
Bulljive. You guys just need to stop pocket watching.

Use him up. No extension, now or ever. Nothing against Zeke. He’s performed wonderfully. But it’s a mistake to give a second contract to a running back.

I can debate that, he's easily the Cowboys MVP but I would still take Bell and Gurley over him.

Not the same situation
Zeke has a 5th yr option

1) Why now - Rapoport is always pulling these stories out his hat at the worst times. Could've reported this non-story M-F.
2) Duh mofo - Of course the Leading Rusher wants an extension.

Question: Dak, Zeke n Amari...DAL can only pay two, who you got?
