you are either Cult of Mediocrity, or you are wrong. thats teh only way to see it.

I’m the one saying we need to improve the team with a a few careful moves based of where we are right now.

You’re on the side saying it’s impossible to improve. Don’t get it twisted.

Do you honestly believe we are that far off?

Based on what I saw in the Rams's/Saints we aren't

Even with JG as our HC

Even with Dak as our QB

Even with JJ as our owner

Even with Kitna as the QB coach

AND the possibility of Mini Me Moore as our OC

We aren't that far behind McVay/Goff, Payton/Brees and the Rams/Saints.

Comments? Bring 'em

This is too much to overcome.

Yea. Totally unreasonable that another season has come and gone and after 8 years we still haven’t sniffed a NFCCG.

Yeah. Definitely being unreasonable.

Hahaha.

It’s unreal. 5 years ago the exact same conversations were happening yet we are getting closer....AGAIN

When does the ceiling snap to life with people

Yes. Very Far OFF. Dak could never make the throws Brady made with the same consistency. Dallas could only win if they got lucky.

-------And clapping carrot is original. Stop being lead by the nose

???? Um....it is original to me, since I came up with it. Are you wearing Jason's Princeton letter jacket right now, or are you just in a bad mood?

Yep. But knock yourself out. It’s not like I expected a rational, measured reaction to where we’re actually at right now anyway. I knew it would just be the moaning.

I love how you paint your stance as rational and measured and nothing else is.

Every offseason you say the same things and say people are too pessimistic and not being rational or fair and then another season comes and goes and we don’t do anything of note and then you repeat the same stuff and call others irrational all over again.

We didn’t get beyond the divisional round. Just like 2014. Just like 2016. You are buying that this year is a clear upward trend. I suspect it’s likely more like Garrett’s entire career...... up, down, flat, all over the place.

One had history on his side. One has simply hope. But yet you think you are the one being rational. That’s a good one.

I don't think anyone would argue the Rams were better than the Saints today, or if they were it was by much. We beat the Saints, so yeah, we are a 4-12 team next year. For sure.

Or more likely an 8-8 team or 9-7 team that fails to make the playoffs.

I mean it’s not like there isn’t precedent here. LOL.

We aren’t that far off. At this level of competition being a sliver better is the difference between winning and losing, in the playoffs and out, and making the playoffs and making the Super Bowl.

how far of are well we haven't won a divisional playoff game in over 23 years so I would say we are a long way away tom brady himself can if he wins the next super bowl win as many as the dallas cowboys have as a team and no the cowboys are not counted as superbowl contenders

We're not getting close to winning a SB with Garrett as HC or some other puppet Jerry would hire if Garrett ever gets fired.

I didn’t say nothing else is rational. I said you’re not being rational.

I’ve been going through this since back when Garrett would never get over .500. We went through it when he’d never qualify for the post season. Never win the East regularly. Never get past the first round because he’s “one and done.” Now it’s “never get to the Championship game.” The goal posts, they move.

Like you say, one of us has history on his side. One has hope. Yeah, I think I’m the rational one.

This team is run by a 'family' of business men that are not 'football guys' and it shows. It is a mediocre franchise that has the occasional bright spot years which usually occur when their regular season schedule is weak. Jerry as a GM is going to continue to kill any chances for success because he insists on remaining loyal to guys like Garrett that have had ample opportunity to tun this team into a winner but fail to do so year after year.

I think we're upgrades at RT, RB2, slot receiver, 1T and safety away. That can be fixed this very off-season with the right moves.

That's my exact list, too. Just a few tweaks, replace the depth we'll lose, and keep trying to stay in striking distance.

I would like to see us be a little bit more aggressive in FA, generally. I like the careful approach, but we've missed out on a couple of guys for just a little bit of money over the years. Now and then I think we need to stretch a little bit. Not on a big name. Like on Zach Brown or Eric Weddle a few years back, where we just missed out by a little bit.

If we can bring up our scoring average to about 27-28pts per game, then I believe we can compete. Right now the offense is just too erratic and sluggish.

All the playoff teams have a decent running game as well, but I believe they have a more balanced approach and have the ability to pass successfully and aggressively when necessary

This same question is asked every couple of years, then we backslide. Again. For 2 decades.

No, while Jerry and his offspring are in charge this is who we are.
