Games have been relatively lopsided, and most of this has to do with the offensive lines and QB to WR timing. I'm interested to see how the league looks mid-way.
Yeah, it's pretty hard to judge the teams, based on their very first ever games......but you can get a feel for some individual talent at the skill positions. The QB for Arizona looks pretty good, for instance.

I had it on in the background for curiosity and because I'll tune in just to give it a ratings boost. I want to see a second league that both acts as a farm system and puts pressure on college ball.

I really think there would be a lot of benefit to this. Some positions, like QB, OL, DB, really need something like this where players who aren't NFL ready can learn to be pros. I think it makes the NFL better if they can eventually reach an agreement with a league like this.

A lot of people seemed to like it. We'll see how good it can be long-term. I say if it reaches the peak of Arena Football in the early 2000s then it will be successful.

I have to admit they look like they are trying.

The production values for the pregame look like CBS is committed to it.
I watched the SA Commanders and San Diego
last night.

It was interesting

I liked the mics on the refs as they did the calls.

That was interesting.

The NFL could do that for me.

Might cut down on the bad calls some if we can all hear how they do it and what they are saying.

AZ Hot Shots game was pretty good last night. Fans were into it. Lots of things to fix for game management though. Limited merchandise and what they did have, they sold out quickly. Concessions are very limited. "Souvenir" cup is an Arizona State one.

Hotshots have 4 or 5 kids on defense and a WR (Ross) with NFL futures.

"You missed that PI call on the last play, so I'm calling a neutral zone infraction here."

- Greg Ward WR for San Antonio. Showed good hustle & atheticism.
- Luis Perez QB for Birmingham. Showed decent accuracy. But lack of legit pass rush helps.
- John Wolford QB for Arizona. Same as Perez

These QBs are getting snaps they’d likely never get in an NFL camp. That can’t hurt

The OLs for SA & AZ both looked good. SA also had some guys on DL with decent pass rush moves. OL can have a big learning curve in the NFL, so more game snaps help them too

These guys have potential to be quality NFL dept.

Karter Schult will probably get another shot in the NFL, he looked like a man among boys yesterday.

I am watching for off season football entertainment, Cowboy hopefuls, and curiosity. I think they should adopt that NFL European football policy of sending a roster player to develop in the AAF ie. Rico Gathers.

I was pretty impressed with the product on the field being that it was a first game. It was like watching 2 good college teams if I had to put a label on it.

I tried to look at it like the first NFL preseason game and I thought they played better than that.

I think a few of us decided right then that San Antonio is our team. ;)

That's going to be my biggest problem getting into it. Geographically, no team is close to an area I care about, so I've got nobody to root for.

Hard to get into a league without a favorite team.
