Romo's last drive

Williams let him down. Should have been an 80 yard TD. The ball got over the defender who ended up on the ground. If Williams wasn't daydreaming on his stroll through the park, he gets a jog in TD.

Really too bad Tony didn't get a chance in 2016. Even after sitting all but the last game, he came out sharp and in command.

What were they thinking signing that Carroll guy? That was some sorry coverage.

I went back and watched as Tony came off the field. The Clapper comes out on the field to shake his hand. Romo stares ahead and walks by. They did a slo mo of Romo walking by around 6min.

I don’t see any of this. First, Williams was very well covered and the throw was way to the inside, so Williams never had a chance at the ball. The DB, who was on the inside, was closer to where the ball was thrown and couldn’t get to it, so how could the player on the outside have had a chance? Then after the TD, Romo was smiling and willingly shook Garrett’s hand as he came off the field. He didn’t stop and talk to Garrett, but players don’t in those situations - the game is still in progress and the team is lining up for the XP, so everyone has to get completely off the field. He moved past several players and coaches on his way to the sidelines.

I was there and saw him throw the TD. Now his second career will be even better.

Was happy to see Romo get one last drive; despite it being a bit underwhelming. Hate that he could not connect with Dez or Witten too.

If we had a healthy Romo on the team this past season we would've won the Super Bowl. So stupid to sit him for Dak. He landed in a seated position with a lineman falling on top of him, that's not a typical hit. He should've taken back his starting position when he was healthy. It's just another mark to show how incompetent the coaching staff is.

I would agree that Romo, in his prime, was a better QB than Dak, however, even aside from the fact that a healthy Romo at age 38 cannot be assumed, your first sentence is far from a certainty. The Rams rushed for 273 yards against the Cowboys, which was not a QB problem.

As for it being stupid to sit him for Dak, while I understand and appreciate that many feel Romo should have been given the job back, let's not act as if there was no foundation for the decision to stick with Dak. The Cowboys had the best record in the NFL that season, and Romo had missed the majority of 2 seasons after being injured 3 of the last 5 times he played.

Does it look like Williams is running full speed to you? He's slowing down before the ball lands, and doesn't even make a move to adjust to it. Throwing the ball outside would have been better, but the DB couldn't get it regardless.

As for shaking Garrett's hand, Garrett grabs his hand and faces Tony. Tony doesn't pull his hand away, but doesn't face Garrett either.

"Underwhelming"? After Dak couldn't do crap, Romo scored a TD on his first and only drive, and you call it "underwhelming".
I believe we had a top 5 scoring offense in 2016. Of course that had nothing to do with Dak because he couldn't do crap....rookie of the year that he obviously did not deserve.....and JG had nothing to do with the success of Dak but wait Dak did not do crap so the JG's COTY was bogus. We have to be better than this Cowboys fans.

Low iq post.

Romo wasn’t as good as rookie Dak.

He was much slower, less accurate, and lacked charisma to Will a team to victory

Yes, it does look like he is running full speed up until just before the ball hits the ground, and that's when he started pulling up. Once he knew the ball was going to fall incomplete there was no reason to keep sprinting. Again, the DB actually had the inside position, and was in much better position to get to the ball than Williams, plus the DB had a bead on the ball the whole way, and he still couldn't get to the ball. If the guy with the best position to get to the ball can't get there, how can we claim the guy with worse position could?

He was sharp that one drive. Definitely think he had the ability to still play going into 2017. Only issue was his ability to take hits.

He just was plain unlucky with the collarbone injuries. And then that Seattle preseason injury was strange.

Anywho, that's over and done.

Change the subject much? In that game, Dak didn't do jack, other than make the Eagles look like a great defense. Romo came in and scored a TD in his only series...yet you prop Dak up and refer to Romo's play as underwhelming. You have to do better than this, ItzKelz.

1 drive vs an entire season. The drive was nothing special. Ive seen waaaaaaaaaaaay better from Romo. Just my opinion but hey maybe some view it as his best drive ever.

Definitely not his best ever, but it showed the difference between being able to run the offense efficiently, and whatever it was Dak was doing in that game.

1st, notice that in the beginning of the play, the defender is playing *outside* technique. Then somehow he gets inside of Williams and deep on him.

Actually Tony shouldn't have thrown outside. The play for Williams was to break inside. 17 yards before the ball comes down, we see Williams getting beat to the inside and strolling downfield.

I agree, The ball was too far inside, and Williams was going full speed until the DB couldn't reach it. It wasn't a good throw, but at least if TWill couldn't catch it, neither could the DB.
