I get what he's saying but I think it's idiotic to let a number 4 pick walk because of money, not because of talent
Give Elliot a 2 or 3 year deal after this year. The RB money is well worth it considering he carries the load. This team needs a big time RB. Marion Barber, ram him to death. We ran murray to death. Now it looks like we will do that to Elliot. Instead of signing him we will tag him and release. These RB know what teams are doing now. That’s why I think bell made a mistake not taking the 14.5. These RB usually go on to get contracts with other teams. I believe murray stole some money from the egirls. Then went on to the titans. Heck even Barber made 16 million back in the early 2000’s.

Trying to keep all these guys long-term and grab an ET or Eiffert will at least be entertaining this offseason.

Let's explain this again.

Every deal we write is designed as a 3 year deal. The cost of keeping the guy vs. dead money balances after year three.

Even if we give him a 5-year deal, we've got an out at year 3.

Folks gotta learn to stop worrying about length

Can't wait to seem him paired up with ET for the next 3 years. :D

Which one plays strong safety?

Sometimes we are in Cover 2 and both safeties are back, but a lot of time, we have one safety up to play the run and cover the underneath stuff. Heath had that responsibility last year, while Woods played more deep safety. Thomas is more of a free safety, too.

I always roll my eyes when people talk that way about Murray. He had a single season where he touched the ball more than 300 times (2014). Before that he was a good RB in a pass heavy offense who already had a tendency to get knicked up in a season. Then he went to the Eagles who knew what to do with him less than an orangutan with a guitar, and then had a really nice year in Tennessee.

Murray was a player who got hurt BEFORE he ever became touch heavy, had one year where he touched the ball a ton, and was a fine back after. There was a corollation, but people way over blow the "touches" received in 2014.
