Ugh. This sucks.

It sucks, because that's not a deal I would have wanted us to do for him, but it also sucks because I really wanted him and thought that his asking price might have been coming down into our neighborhood.

Before everybody says the Ravens overpaid it is very likely Cowboys would have gotten him cheaper if they acted on the first day. Difference making players cost money.

$22MM in the first nine months is actually a smart move. The Ravens have now limited their potential dead money downside if Thomas' career starts to crater soon.
Yeah, why not go ahead and give him all $55M today. That way you can cut him at any time and not have dead money.

Super smart!

You went to the wrong guy, Earl.

Should have waited for the chubby cheapskate to come down the tunnel.

It's so obvious this next season is a total waste.

Rookies and Garrett are going to improve the team. Sprinkle in some Kellen Moore. Why do I even follow this crap franchise.

Garrett should be gone so it could shape up to be their best and most important offseason.

I wouldn’t either but it’s the fact they sat here and let this market dry up knowing he wanted to get one last pay day. How did these idiots think they were going to trade a second round pick for him and try to keep him?
Then he was a year younger, wasn’t coming off his third season ending injury, and wasn’t on the open market, so likely his cost was a little less.

Here is the thing guys, the ramifications of these signings will never be known until the season gets underway. Right now, every free agent signed by other teams looks great. Good on the Ravens for offering 4 years 55 million to Thomas. We will see how that pans out for them.
