This is something I've said all along about locker room dynamics. That's what T.O. talked about and what Dez hinted about and what T. Williams talked about and what Deion talked about and etc. It's all about perception. And that's as far as we can go on this topic.

He is a great player when he plays.
Not exactly...

37 total games played in 4 seasons
12.5 total sacks (.34spg)
56 total combined tackles (1.5ctpg)

Even when he played, he put up JAG numbers.

"I feel like Jason is one of those guys where, growing up in football, he was always the second-hand man or the third-string guy, and I feel like he had to work his a-s-s off to even be able to step on the field with some of these guys. Me, I could roll out of bed with a hangover and go outperform anybody. I don’t think he liked that.”

And there you have it. He didn't want to work hard. He just wanted to smoke pot, roll out of bed and play on Sundays.

I love how Irving said "Garrett doesn't understand players of color." As if all players of color are exactly the same and can't think for themselves or have individual personalities.

Way to play to a stereotype, David.

He has moments of greatness - some individual games, but no consistency. Of course, had he ever had consistent time on the field that may have changed, but I suspect it just has a lot to do with not having a consistent fire in his belly.

Coming from David Irving, it's not believable. But David, like every other player and person in general, has perceptions based on the schema (mental framing from past experiences and observations) in their minds. It Is how people perceive their world.
David Irving had the ability to be an elite DT/DE combo. But you need more than ability, and that's what he did not have, hence, him being out of the league.

Strange day for a race card discussion.

"Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that" still holds true today.

At the end of the day he will come to the realization that he F’d up a winning lottery ticket all by himself. Now he obviously does not feel that way today, but one day in his 30’s or 40’s or 50’s etc he will look in the mirror and say “Man I coulda had at least $25-30M MINIMUM” sitting in my bank account right now if I was not such a Jack Azz! Very sorry to see someone do that to themselves.
I wonder how many more commercials he'll get now that he isn't a Cowboy.

The red flags were there from the beginning.

Seeing someone paint their hair like that should have told the Cowboys Irving was going to be a troublesome child.

If Iowa State, not getting drafted, practice squad fodder, multiple suspensions, getting released without other teams calling.....didn't make him realize, then he likely never will.
