Too Tall Announcing First Pick

He held out and embarrassed himself in the boxing arena over 170k a year. Now tank balks at 20 million a year to play the same position. How the times have changed. Texas schramm could never have survived the age of free agency.
Pretty eye-opening. Too tall was a favorite. I was in awe of his size as a kid...

Ed Jones played from 1974 to 1990 if memory serves. THATS along career. Never missed a game. Was the Cal Ripken of NFL football.

reliable comes to mind. He was deceptively strong. His thing was the bull rush. HE WAS VERY GOOD AT IT. He terrorized Phil Simms for years lol...
Pretty much liking any reference to Too Tall, but I'm sure some kid on here will say, "he didn't have enough bend"

That 1979 was a terrible year for the Cowboys, we lost one whole side of the defense, Too Tall retired, Charlie Waters was hurt, and Hollywood was kicked off team. Plus it was Roger's and Cliff's last year.

Billy Waddy sure pissed me off that day...He has a huge family that lived 15 minutes from my house in Bay City,Texas in a little town called Boling, Texas.I met and worked with several of his relatives. We probably would have gone on and met pittsburgh again in the superbowl had it not been for this play.Should be called" the immaculate deflection"

And Vince Ferragamo ugh! We killed them in the regular season but we just didn't have the D that year.

Ferragamo was a legit qb for sure...The Rams knocking us out in the playoffs at home in 83 pissed me off as well. They were a stone in the shoe.
We had a damn good team in 83.

Ed Too Tall Jones. A LEGEND AND A HERO. The man was a feared beast when he played. He was good all the way until he retired. Never missed a game. Rayfield Wright was also feared. NOBODY wanted to face him. He was one helluva offensive tackle. He was very much like Eric Williams .
Too Tall missed all of 1979...

And Staubach only made $25,000 and had to get a part-time job to "support" his family. Insadently, his part-time job was a real estate agent. Now he's a real estate mogul. He certainly didn't make his millions in the NFL. Roger That

Players today are spoiled and have no inclination just how fortunate they really are making the NFL.

someone was asking in a Witten thread if anyone ever retired and came back succesfully - well Too Tall is the answer to that
It is possible, he was very good when he came back after retiring to be a pro wrestler for a couple of years
He came back in better shape than he left
