Word of the day: Compassion
Word of the day: Compassion
agree ...clearly SOMEONE has to intervene that is in his inner circle before he totally implodes. What an insult and disappointment to Jerry Brown and his family and friends , as well as Jerry Jones and Cowboys Nation.................He should be ashamed of himself...............................
yup...its Katy bar the door..all the sports networks would be posting it all over...Seems like when other teams players get in trouble the headline hardly reads the teams name.
But if the guy mopping floors works for the Cowboys..........."Breaking News!"
I try not to speak for another poster. But it seemed he said compassion referencing Josh Brent overall and not aimed at the incident with the police. I don't feel we are talking about police brutality in this case.hmm ok...why? Should they have waited for him to lunge at them or hurt himself maybe? I understand he has issues..and that's sad. Hope he gets help. But why should they...WE have compassion for someone who already has caused a death? At what point does compassion do more harm than good? To heck with compassion..what he needs is treatment and a life coach.
I'm sure he is. Not many people strive to be the guy who is known for killing his long time friend in a car accident and then end up shirtless and drunk in the middle of the day at a Wendy's parking lot with half police force lighting you up with tasers. What an insult and disappointment to Jerry Brown and his family and friends , as well as Jerry Jones and Cowboys Nation.................He should be ashamed of himself...............................
Totally agree, Amen by brother!I try not to speak for another poster. But it seemed he said compassion referencing Josh Brent overall and not aimed at the incident with the police. I don't feel we are talking about police brutality in this case.
Btw. I view your suggestion of treatment and life coach as showing compassion. Thats not a bad thing at all. I doubt many people here disagree with many of your points. Many would love to see him get treatment. Our country needs more treatment and less incarceration. One has proven to be effective, the other has proven to only be effective in creating life time criminals void of the hope all men need to be their best in life.
So ... We are not allowed to say, "SHAME!"
We are not on the Cowboys payroll. We are not killing people in DUIs and not running from police outside, shirtless, at a Wendy's. Did kids see this? Did his ghetto lifestyle intrude on young lives?
Nice going, Jerry.
I don't know how some can relate this to the prison overcrowding situation.we agree..prisons,jails are over filled as it is and over whelmed.
exactly...compassion without bending the law is fine by me. FIRST...he has to pay whatever debt to society he must on this incident, then thats when the compassion comes in...ie the treatment and life coach. He doesn't deserve compassion FIRST..that comes later. Sometimes its earned.. its not just given.I try not to speak for another poster. But it seemed he said compassion referencing Josh Brent overall and not aimed at the incident with the police. I don't feel we are talking about police brutality in this case.

Just like he could have called an Uber (or even the team sponsored service) to get home the night Brown was killed, he could have just drank himself stupid at home and not presented himself out in public.not many positives come from being intoxicated in public...its a terrible recipe under most circumstances. Look at Zeke recently...its a bad look to say the least.
that's a great fact as well. There is a few layers to the Josh Brent Onion. Bottomline, he has a pattern of issues. He broke the law. The law isn't subjective. I think we agree on this no doubt. I feel like he's just about out of compassion cards lol...but he does need help.I don't know how some can relate this to the prison overcrowding situation.
This is a case where it was not a first time offender for some weed or a DUI. This is a recidivist and probation violator.
So, second, third and fourth chances for players like Brent so people can feel compassionate?Word of the day: Compassion
that's right, Amen. Its about making good decisions.Just like he could have called an Uber (or even the team sponsored service) to get home the night Brown was killed, he could have just drank himself stupid at home and not presented himself out in public.
like I said earlier, at what point does compassion do more harm than good? So, second, third and fourth chances for players like Brent so people can feel compassionate?
Where is the everyday compassion for those who are far worse off and never even got the benefit of a second chance?
He might still be playing if he had moves like that on the field.
