Zeke's Agent proof reads the contract , only problem is, he isn't a lawyer .

Surely you don't think these highly paid agents are just winging it. I imagine the big agency firms have an in house lawyer anyway, but no doubt they also have agents who are so experienced and well versed in these kinds of contracts they don't need a lawyer unless there is an unusual provision they don't fully understand.

Jerry paid Ratliff when he did something similar, and he regretted it. I hope he learned from that "re-signing". If Zeke was holding out in the last year of his contract, I would be more OK with it. But he is about to get a bigger raise with that option year being picked up.

I guess you'll need to turn in your Cowboys fan club card.

How can you have such animosity for a guy you don't even know? What has he done to you personally?

The issue i think most have with Zeke and this holdout, is that he has 2 years left on his deal not 1 and it's not like he hasn't made money, his deal thru the 1st 4 years (not including the 5th year option that the team picked up) averaged 6.2m per season, it's not like he was getting 2nd or 3rd round money or even the bottom of the 1st round money, plus he is only 24 years old when the season starts, there would still be a huge deal for him next year at 25 years of age too, this holdout is ill timed to say the least

whats killin him is his agent. My guess is he wanted to show, but the agent advised him not to.

That may well be. The agent gets paid a %, so he is looking for his compensation to be a % of a bigger base. Usually listening to the agent is better than the player going on his own anyway, because the player may not be able to look at it from the same business perspective, and someone needs to do that. Of course, the player always needs to stay on top of it too and make sure the agent doesn't lose site of what's important to the player, which may be more than just the dollars.

every time an agent gets their client a big contract, it adds to his resume for purpose of acquiring new clients in the future. win for the agent. win for the client.

YES AGREE...but this one with Zeke is a slippery slope for the player. The team really doesn't have the resources to give Zeke what he wants this year. Next year?...maybe. I think the agent got too far ahead of himself here.Who knows, maybe Zeke's Dad had something to do with this too...more than the player did. We have seen this before in sports, where its a case of too many chiefs, not enough Indians.

yes and no, ray. what if zeke were to sustain a major injury this year while playing for 3.8 million. there is a good chance there wouldn't be a 5th season. the player and his agent are hedging their bets. studies show that qb is the position least likely to sustain a major injury, so cousins could risk it. dak, too, should he feel the need. but rb's take a pounding and zeke knows this. it sucks. I hate it. but I also understand it. besides, it's not my money.

It’s killing him to not be with his teammates. They all have a connection together. I think they all understand his hold out. He wants to get paid. Rb career aren’t that long so he wants to cash in now.

That being said.

It’s still not a good look with Dak and amari showing up like everyone else. I know they understand why he’s doing it but still not a good look

Gary Brown is not much of an RB's coach and should have been fired a long time ago. He's been riding the coattails of Demarco Murray and Ezekiel Elliott ever since he got here in 2013. Firing Brown would go a long way in getting Zeke's attention on how upset the Jones boys are about Zeke's betrayal. If there are communications going on between Zeke and the Cowboys FO, it needs to stop with Zeke being told to come to camp. Entertaining Zeke's immature demands only encourages him to continue holding out. The Cowboys need to make a public statement that will get to Zeke that conveys to him holding out will not result in anything that benefits him. He is under contract for two more seasons and continuing to hold out will not get him any closer to free agency. Continuing his hold out will only mean he is effectively out of football. Period.

BS. Betchya he doesn't die. More spin to the fandom. "It's all their fault I am not with my team".

Lol, another thread that turns into Zeke being the victim. Unfriggin’ real, it’s truly comical.

We've got a few fans who are acting like victims. You'd think Zeke was after their money.

Come back on your knees, Zeke...

Yes, the emotional turmoil he must be going through.

Zeke is dead to me.

Don’t care. Both he and his greedy agent can go piss up a rope. I don’t want to see him play for us ever again. If he does, I’ll be hoping he gets tackled reeeaaallly reeeaaallly hard every time.

Calm down, boys. This too shall pass.

Speaking for myself with regard to Zeke, it’s not the money as much as it is the worth of the position. They are related but maybe you get what I’m trying to say. Plus I don’t like Zeke and am already looking forward to the day this blockhead isn’t a Cowboy.

It's not killing him. He's sitting on the beach with a beer in his hand, which is what Zeke lives for.
