My uneducated guess is the trainers just want to know how best to treat him in short and long term to “keep him on the field all year.” Hard to know what is best if you have no information.

Hopefully it’s not a herniated disk. That could be a potential disaster. Martin is as stoic as they come. If he needs an MRI the pain has to be bad.

yeh what a fight back issues had given tyron smith and DLaw. late report someone at camp was seen wearing an ice pack on his back.
Hopefully it's minor tweak and rest, therapy and treatment will help him thru this.
Don't expect to see him in ANY preseason game now.
