Witten made a Witten type play last night, and getting us further into the red zone. This is the type of plays I expect more of.

Jarwin and Schultz did not play last night, so I guess they wanted to see McElroy and Lucas. But I hope they mis more Jarwin and Schultz in next week with Witten, to see how they actually will be used. Though Moore will not show all his plays with them.

I like McElroy and even Lucas did well last night. But I want to see one or both on the PS. Only keep 3 TE's. But I do want to see more of them. Both were so much better than being albatross Rico out there.

I wasn't a big fan of resigning Witten after a year off, loved the guy but thought it was time to move on since we need a tightend to stretch the field down the middle more but I have to say he's looked pretty good and has clearly slimmed down and moving better than he was the year before he retired.....

Both Jarwin and Schultz were injured in last week's game. Not about seeing the other guys at all. Staff definitely wants Schultz getting preseason snaps.

Witten isn’t quicker or faster than 2017. Wish y’all would stop letting personal feelings about him affect what is clearly seen. He’s a backup

I'm sorry but an older version of Witten is still a serious upgrade to our TE position.

Wish y'all would actually see him play a bit before claiming to "clearly see" something.

Marcus Lucas
- Doubtful if he has practice squad eligibility remaining.

- Appears to have outdone Jameill Showers in time spent as a practice squad player.
- The Cowboys are the 11th team that he has been with since 2014.
- The number of teams on which he has been on either their practice squad or off-season roster might be a record.
- He can block better than McElroy.

McElroy
- Good receiver.
- No clue as a blocker.
- Good practice squad candidate.

Actually he does appear to be a bit quicker/faster than in 2017.

I was NOT excited when the re-sign him; however, he appears to have lost weight and is running better.

Jarwin: Good receiver with good range. Minimal blocking ability.

Schultz: A good (James Hanna type) blocker. Less receiving ability than Jarwin.

Witten: Better blocking option than Jarwin. Better receiving option than Schultz.

By the way, anyone hear how Swaim is doing in so far with Jax?

Both Lucas and McElroy got open and could catch last night. So, that is a plus.

Other than Witten, we really don't have a blocking TE. Thinking out of the box, I think Connor Williams would make a good blocking TE a few times per game. We could use Williams as the blocking TE and put Looney or someone else in for guard such as Looney, Sua'filo, or the recently drafted guard from Penn State.

yesterday's game was totally against 2nd and 3rd teamers. ergo, it amounted to little more than a good scrimmage. while all our te's could be better blockers, the best in the game today are great receivers. I think we'll be ok with jarwin and Schultz back in the mix.

Next week is the dress rehearsal, so we should see Shultz and Jarwin
