Thanks for dropping by, random fellow.
More telling is a resistance to move on. Any rational team would have cut them 2 years ago.
Ya,well "We like our guys" almost to a fault sometimes it seems, yet if you'll kindly recall the F.O. laid down that covering fire in the successful recovering of the #82 with that whole "part time player/part time position coaching" and I would safely assume that labeling aptly applies to our #50 as well, ,,,er,,,should He choose to remain in pursuit of a footballish type cush career gig ,,,ya!,,,we like our guys:starspin:

Lee can still play and is probably the best LB3 of any 4-3 team. Talent has never been the issue, and he will have limited reps which should help him stay healthy.

Jarwin has had a couple flashes in the pan. Schultz cant even say that. Both have had injury problems. We need another capable guy at the spot, if not two. Witten might be old but he can still do a lot of things very well.

Theres no way we dont have Witten and Lee both on the 53 come opening day.

I agree, there's no way Witten and Lee fail to make the 53.
What I wish though is that Lee retired and they hire him as a LB coaching asst.

Respect the past, mateys of the dreadnoughts and business lorries!
If we keep Lee and Written, artifacts of the past, it occupies 2 vital spots for future stars.
Sentimentality or shrewd personnel moves?
Think of it, chaps. Old boys.
The final cuts should CUT these two unless they retire.
Let us move on.

Lee has missed most of training camp, and maybe played a little in the last game? He's still what he was when we redid his contract, a guy with a high floor and a very high ceiling. I don't why people are so quick to dismiss the possibility of getting toward that ceiling. I'm excited by it. I wouldn't dream of cutting him.

As for Witten, yeah, I'm not that excited either. But I think he's another guy with a very high floor. People are banking on a lot from Jarwin. Good receiver, but not a blocker. Witten gives us an average starting TE, balanced for blocking and receiving. Average TE is more than we had last year.

"2 vital spots for future stars"
I don't see stars at TE.

And Lee's recognition has always made our defense better. Do we have a ton of stars behind Lee? Not that I see. Luke Gifford looks good *for an UDFA*. And isn't he injured?

As Lee once said...."It's about accountability."

There’s nothing telling. Witten is the best blocking TE and red zone TE on the team. Lee is still useful for another year to mentor Jaylon and LVE.

Yes. Saw Witten at camp. Dude can still play.

SLee is built like a tank. He can still whip anyone's with one hand.

Blimey! Already making excuses for Witten: limited reps, special routes etc. And often injured and hampered Lee!
Boorish clank! Sod!
When old players are limited by chronic injury and age and slowness, it might be time to take a long look. Even the bad franchises know this, Manchester bullies!

Not just Witten and Lee but all players need to be looked at closely, does Randy and his personal issues with pot deserve all the drama he brings. The right kind of guy on the Cowboys I do believe earns you an extra year of playing time in 2019, while teams like the Pats would say adios.

It probably occupies 2 spots for 3 teamers and special teams players.

Sometimes I wonder if anyone is even paying attention when they watch football.

I am glad you asked, gangsta goth boy.

Replace them with younger, cheaper, faster players.
I know, a foreign concept for you sentimental louts.
Wow! You are wasting your time! You should be an NFL GM. Your posts are sometimes, let’s say, amusing. The ones in this thread are moronic.
