Yes, Dak played excellent today. Most likely we can chalk that up to the new offensive scheme and play calls by Kellen Moore.

But, remember, this offseason Dak has been working a lot with new QB coach Jon Kitna.

Dak looked super comfortable in the pocket and when he had to make a couple of tight throws he was successful.

Dropped a dime to Gallup and the TD pass to Cooper was beautifully thrown.

I always liked Kitna's aggressiveness and Dak certainly looked aggressive today.

Nice job Kitna.
he did look a lot more comfortable in the pocket. maybe that's cause he could order pizza after getting the ball before throwing. :) but he did very well and was fun to watch.

forgot about Kitna. We can certainly see he has gotten Dak more comfortable in the pocket and with his reads.

It seemed like he would hit his back foot and the ball would come out. That's a big difference from previous years when it seemed like the only big plays we ever had were broken ones with the QB scrambling around.

Love what Kitna has brought to the table. Exactly what Dak has needed.

Quality coaching pays dividends immediately.

well i hope he's just more confident and all the help he's been given is paying off. he was making some insane throws yesterday that should make any cowboys fan happy. i'll stay happy if he can keep it up, like most of us. :)

Dak got the ball out quick. This myth that he was just standing around in the pocket all day is just that. No doubt the protection was there, but Dak made quick, decisive reads...and that had just as much to do with it if not more than the pass protection.

Guys were wide open!!! Instead of some lame, predictable, comeback route scheme of Garretts guys are flying open. Easier to read when its like that.

You have a vendetta against everyone. Even those that agree with 90% of what you say.

I'm beginning to think you're clinically insane.

Kitna spent nine weeks with Dak and all of a sudden Dak's new found success is linked to Kitna. But wait a minute didn't Kitna spend those same nine weeks with Mike White? So if Dak's new found success is linked to Kitna then why isn't Mike White failures linked to Kitna.

The point I'm trying to make is Dak's very own determination should not be discounted. Dak has worked his but off to get to where he is now. And that work and determination started before Kitna even showed up.

So someone explain to me why Kitna's wizard magic didn't work on Mike White or Cooper Rush. He spent the same amount of time with them and Dak.

99% of the credit goes to Dak and his determination.

One obvious reason, is that Dak was already light years ahead of them as a quarterback. He needed much less refinement than either of them. But, you will never get those who hate Dak to agree with that statement. Heck, some were calling for White to start in place of Dak last season.

The line did their job, but so did Dak. You can look at the video highlights and see that the issues with timing that were an issue all of last year are gone. He drops back and the ball comes out, no more bouncing around waiting for something to happen. It was incredibly noticeable. The shackles of Linehan have been lifted from this team.

Linehan, the same guy who shot down Kitna's hire as quarterbacks coach last year. The man was a plague.

Keeping in mind that yesterday vs NYG was Jon Kitna’s first game as a QB coach at any level.

Just sayin’...
Very few QB coaches were coaches elsewhere. At least Kitna has more coaching experience day 1 than Wade Wilson did, Kitna at least coached football all be it at the HS level.

I go back to the timing. We saw plenty of quick passes yesterday, with a few longer shots added in here and there. And it kept the Giants off balance all day. It's very similar to how the Patriots run things and keep Brady clean all day. Pick your spots to take your shots. Vary up the timing of your passing game so the opponent can't notice a rhythm or pattern. Get the ball out before the other guy even has a chance to get there.

Kellen Moore did more on his first outing than Linehan ever did here.

I wonder if Linehan was cheering or booing yesterday?

Anyway, I recall that Dak said towards the end of last season that the game was starting to slow down for him, that he was seeing the field faster. That was under Kellen. I think that's the first thing he needed to do to become better, then Kitna came along and added in the mechanics. And voila!

they shot that stat up there yesterday that showed what 4-5 EX QBs on the offensive side coaching..

So Moore, Kitna, Te coach, and Garett..i cant remember the other , im sure Dak is finally getting coached up but really he is just getting on the same page with all his WRs and Tes..full offseason of hard work paid off for at least one day..

The scheme really helped receivers to get open.

But Dak made 3 great throws yesterday that were not easy.

1) The fade route to Gallup in the 2nd quarter.
2) The td pass to Cooper
3) A 5-6 yard pass to Elliot in a tight window but Elliot dropped it.
