Every article I've read after the Cowboy Giant game has in some way or 'nother denigrated Linehan while praising Moore.

If another team hired him, I'm sure the fan base would revolt.

But what about the FO's? Does this (99.9% negative) publicity remind them that he's available and maybe some will consider hiring him? Or is this harming his chances of ever working in football again?

I think he’s finished. Exposed for how little he was able to do with the clear player talent he had.

His own buddy in Garrett had to fire him.

Not many teams looking for an older OC with a long track record of mediocrity and stale ideas.

His biggest problem is that the league is moving towards younger guys who have innovative ideas. Linehan is missing on both fronts. All Moore has done, is further emphasize that his time is past.

There've been plenty of other coaches at all levels from position coaches to HC's fired at one team and snatched up by another.

If it wasn't for Linehan we might not have Moore.

True, he'd probably be coaching at the college level. Linehan is the one who convinced the Lions to get Moore as an UDFA. If he hadn't gone to the Lions, Chris Petersen would have hired him at Boise State, where he'd now be HC after Petersen moved to Washington.

I doubt anyone here would raise their voice over Linehan getting hired elsewhere unless it's to celebrate that team's new found predictability.

Here is my opinion... Linehan was being watched by Garrett and also held back by Garrett. If you think for a minute that linehan had the same kind of leeway that Moore does I think your off base. I think with Moore, Garrett has been forced and stripped of his duties in regards of keeping his thumb on the coordinators and the job they do. Finally we're getting to see an offensive coordinator that has freedom where as in the past they really didn't. Linehan operated with different rules. Having said that I don't think linehan is a great coordinator I think his time has passed, but lets be honest with ourselves here, Garrett is coaching for his life here and has been told not to interfere by jerry. Linehan did not have those circumstances.

I assume he could become another positions coach possibly.

Seems like he was a WR coach prior to being an OC.

Idk, there are too many posts to quote.

But, still, too much of the offensive problems are being attributed to Linehan, not JG. People forget that Linehan did a complete 180 from the way he called plays in DET when he arrived. It was still JG's show.

Now it is KM's show, but that doesn't mean that he and SL were dealing from the same deck.
