I was seeing if someone was going to bring this latest Cowboys news up, but per Mike Fish, DE/DT Tyrone Crawford has been having issues with BOTH hips. I heard this on 105.3 the fan radio during Mike Fish report.

this is sounding worrisome as the numbers are starting to dwindle in the DL unit.
Taco looked pretty good now. Crawford is doing what I expected. Getting hurt.

The hip bursitis was from last year.
It's hip surgery and hip bursitis on a 29 year old player who costs 7mil.

There was a lot of talk here about moving on from Crawford this year. That was before I ever heard about the hip bursitis. That definitely pushes it over the edge for me. Should have moved on. It's going to be a case of "a year too late" instead of "a year too early" with Crawford.

Time to retire
I thought so too, until I saw how completely average the DL played in the first two games. The DL is very average and it seems like there is not much talent among the backups that gives hope for future improvement unless Hill is impressing others much more than he is impressing me. It looks like the DL may be the downfall of the team this year unless something changes.

He has bursitis in both hips... no bueno

Need to rest for sure. Glad Quinn is back. Having Woods down too makes 1Tech razor thin.

Hopefully Quinn is ready to roll, and Covington is ready fot starter snaps.

Honestly? I’d rest Crawford the next two weeks and see how he is feeling in week 5,

I thought Cowboys placed Jelk on permanent IR,.. even if they could bring him up off the short term IR, I think it would have to be at least in Week 8.

maybe Daniel Wise can be a candidate to called up off Practice Squad, if the team see this Crawford at it's worst.
Correct. Jelks is shelved, no recall. Wise is the only guy. I'd like to see it. Both he and Wilson were the toughest cuts. Curious to see if either can play with the best.

If Quinn can play, we’re gonna be alright, maybe even really good. Tank is still rounding into form from offseason shoulder-surgery and will get better with every game. Maliek Collins is a disruptive player and Christian Covington is one of the top run-defenders in the league. That cohesive, healthy quartet is a very solid starting d-line.

Throw in rotational players like Trysten Hill, Dorance Armstrong, Kerry Hyder, and Joe Jackson —I think there’s a lot to be optimistic about.

I’m with those calling for Daniel Wise to be called up. I thought he made plays all the way through the final preseason game and has the size to play across the line.

We’ll get Antwan Woods back soon enough.

No gloom & doom here.

Quinn is the key.

I don't generally favor trading away future picks. But this year presents a special opportunity.

The trade deadline is Oct 30 and i suspect by then we'll see some 3-6 teams in soft-tank mode. I'd like to see us trade for a quality DT.
Maybe we should trade for Taco. j/k

We took a cap hit of 1.2 Million in dead space for Taco, there is nothing next year. Not a big deal IMO.
From what I'm reading we have almost 3 million dollars in prorated signing bonus money for 2019/2020 which we have to pay (kinda like how Pittsburgh is still paying for Brown since they moved the cash money farther down the contract)
