1992 dallas cowboys, 3-1 to start season

This is not true. At that time of this loss that 92 team didn't know they were winners. They won a playoff game the year before and that was it.

The consensus at the time is that we might be a year away.

So you think this team went to N.O. on a 3 game, 30 plus pts a game winning streak, against a team they beat the year before, who had a backup quarterback and some injuries, and didn't think they'd win?

That we're "potential" contender.... The point is one bad game on the road shouldn't change whatever you thought before Sun night.

I am not shocked that many have overreacted to one loss but I am surprised they do not give credit to a very good team in their stadium. They just went to one of the toughest away venues and beat SEA and return to defend their keep.

And give credit where credit is due, there are HC's like Belichick, Payton and Pederson that get their teams to close ranks and elevate their play better than other coaches. NO had a great game plan against the Cowboys and it worked, credit to them and blame to no one from me. I thought they were the better team and still think that. We are going to play some other teams that I think are better as well and I do not expect to beat them either.

Whether posters want to admit it or not, if they're getting all in that blame game on coaches or players, they swallowed that 3-0 bait hook, line and sinker. They should blame themselves, not the team. And Payton is a better coach than Garrett, he's a better coach than a lot of other coaches.

Garrett plays down to opponents, Garrett wont attack a weakness. Garretts team did the same thing over and over and if something worked, we never saw it again.

Gotten better pretty steadily.

Oh no, I wasn't saying he's as good as Turner, nor was I say he isn't. I was just saying the offense goes through KM now, as it went through NT back then. Comparing Garrett to Jimmy is mostly irrelevant in regard to the play calling.

Won the East the last 2 out of 3 years, they are a contender, just not a true contender at this time. The difference is a true contender is a candidate for the NFCCG and they're not there yet.
